Well i have taken two days worth of new medicine and no rash. So i am getting hopeful. Now that would be odd for me to be optamistic. LOL I had been feelling really like i was an impossible case. Now i am not saying that i am miraculasly cured. Obviosly i havn't learned to spell yet. LOL However I am hopeful today. Now that is worth alot.

Cutting down on pred and well that sort of sucks pain wise. Knees and ankles are not liking that at all. But i am feeling a little better in other ways.

No one answered my questions. Anyone ever take there folic acid with Plaquinel check spelling. I am taking the generic form. Wow i would be so happy to have something work that i can afford. That would be the greatest.

Also how do people fair with hair loss on this med?

I don't think I saw your earlier question so I may not answer you correctly but I'll try. I take Plaquenil (generic) and when I was taking folic acid every day I would usually take it at the same time as the Plaq., but it's really for MTX, which I also take. Are you taking MTX? Hair loss is from the MTX, I don't believe it's a side-effect of Plaq., although there are exceptions, I'm sure.

I forgot to add, hair loss is not a big problem for me, so far.

Thanks Jessie88 . Yes the folic acid was for the MTX. I am allergic to the MTX. But i think i still have the MTX in my system so i fiqure i still should take the folic acid for a little while longer. Thanks for answering my question. You did a good job. I just wanted to know if it was safe to take folic acid while on Plaquenil.

Hope you continue to be okay on Plaquenil. I take MTX, plaq and folic acid so I guess it wouldn't be a problem to continue with the folic acid.Hi Milly, I am glad you are feeling better, there is a website where you can key in your drugs and it will tell you if its safe, I am sorry I can't remember the web address but if you google medicine interactions, I am sure you will find it. If you do have hair loss, just tell your friends to cut you some slack because you are having a no hair day. Milly, the only hair loss I've experienced so far with plaquenil is that my leg hair is much lighter than it was before. I still have an unruly mop on my head. Hi Milly,

I'm on mtx (20mg once per week), plaquenil (200mg daily) and arava (20mg daily). I take 5mg of folic acid on the 3rd day after taking the mtx. The biggest side effect is the nausea on the day I take mtx and the day after - also the fatigue. So far haven't really had any problem with any additional hair loss.

I wish you continued success with the plaquenil and hope it brings some benefits for you.
