Immune System | Arthritis Information

I've been on Prednisone(over 3 months but off it now), had a cortizone shot and now on Methotrexate since Feb 08 and not sick yet.  Everyone has been in the family but me.

My immune system is fine still so I'm wondering if anyone else finds their immune system ok still being on methotrexate.  I take 15mg a week if that gives you any guideline.

I am 44 yrs. old if that helps.  I just wonder about the immune system because I read a lot of people with ra or pa getting sick a lot.  Is it because they are taking more dmards than me or age?

I also drink....my family doctor and my rhuemy told me I could have one glass of wine a day.  I don't...I save them for the weekend.  I will continue to drink occasionally because it's social for me and without it I find I don't feel normal.  I hate this disease enough already and don't feel like I use to so having a glass of wine or two with friends make me feel normal again...I will.

I read that a lot of you don't drink.  I have read that methotrexate is bad for the liver so drinking doesn't help but I don't take nsaids, tylenol, or anything else except thyroid pills, methotrexate, multivitamin and folic acid and calcium mag.

I do get monthly liver tests done and nothing has been bad yet but am I playing
russian roulette with my liver by drinking?

Thanks for listening guys and any responses.
