Hello everyone,
I have suffered with psoriasis for 23 years. My derm finally decided he
would do something about it and prescribed Enbrel. So far, so good.
I have taken 6 shots so far ( i take 50 2x a week) and my skin is finally
clear. It feels so good i can't even begin to tell you.
I noticed a few days ago the skin on my face was kinda weird. It feels as
though i have a sunburn and my eyes are a bit swollen.
I did call enliven services and the nurse told me they have never heard of
a reaction like this.
The thing is my eyes have bothered me since i have moved into this new
apartment a few months ago. I have done a lot of sneezing and stuff
since i moved in here. My eyes have been feeling funny since i moved in
here. 2 months ago i even got a sty in my eye.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Joan of Arc
I also want to mention that the site where i am injecting has been fine, no
redness, bumps, etc...you'd never know i am injecting there.
If this is an allergic reaction, wouldn't it had shown up after the first couple
of shots? Wouldn't there be a reaction at the site?
I really don't want to have to stop taking Enbrel. It has been good to me so
far.
I would think if you were having an allergic reaction the injection site would be the first place it would be noticeable, but I'm not a doctor. It does sound like an allergy though, but if you've changed circumstances it could be due to a number of things.
I hope it's not the Enrel after you having such good effects from it.
Best wishes,
Moonie x
i have been on enbrel for about 6 months now, i have PA, and i have also had wonderful results. I haven't had any rashes or side effects that are noticable. Maybe you are having an allergic reaction to something in the new apartment, do you have allergies to anything else?I've been on Enbrel for almost 2 years now and the only "side effect" I've noticed is some occasional bruising at the injection site. It sounds like it's your new environment.
I have a 6 year old on Enbrel injections 7mg 2xs a week and she has a friend that is 11 and she has scleroderma and JRA. Both my daughter and this girl started enbrel on the same day and my daughter improve with Katie did not. She went into something like a flare but her face was real puffy and swollen, she had aches and pains but she also has another disease dermoyositis or pain and inflammation in the muscles. Well anyway, to make a long story short.... She was allergic to it. They had to switch her to Remicade. I would call your Dr. I hope this helped. In my opinion it sounds as though you have an allergy to something you're breathing due to the fact that you're sneezing and have moved to a new place. I don't think it has anything to do with the Embrel but that's just my opinion and I'm not a doctor. Hi Joan of Arc, I have been on enbrel for about six months. Last week my right eye started swelling and itching like I was getting a sty but has since gone away. I just thought it was weired that you mentioned it because I wondered also if the enbrel had caused it too. I also have a dull pain that goes from my left hip down to my knee when I stand on my feet too long. Those are the two things that have happened to me since I started the enbrel.
