problem feet | Arthritis Information

Hi all, I've been dx with RA which was mainly affecting my fingers and wrists.  My feet have been aching and hurting for a few weeks now, with terrible pain running down the outside of my feet, mainly the right one.  I've been to see a podiatrist today, she examined me and said that my ankles and my hips were very stiff, and my gait was not right, but that it was not due to arthritis!!  I'm confused   Has anyone here had foot pain/stiffness that was not related to their arthritis.

Did she say what it was from?  Or how she knows it's not from arthritis?  Did she tell you what to do/where to go to find out what the problem is?  Sounds a little strange to me.

Most of my foot pain/stiffness has been directly related to RA, however I do sometimes get muscle spasms in my feet which could happen as a secondary effect of the RA, fibro or neuropathy.
Hi May
I have foot pain as well - toe joints, balls and sides of feet and have never been told it's not RA (but also never have gone to a podiatrist)   What does your RD say about it - I guess I would take their opinion, vs the podiatrist.
I have pain and stiffness in my feet and ankles and I know it is from the RA.Actually my first symptoms of RA were in my toes, ankles and then fingers.  Call your RD and get an appt.  They may order xrays.  LindyI was first Dx with Morton's neuroma by 2 podiatrists, in the last 3 yrs. My Rd Dx that it is Ra instead, I tend to believe  him since pain has really subsided with my treatment. See what your Rd says.RA likes the feet! Especially the toes...... Some people get it in the feet first, before anyplace else. It also affects the ankles which radiates into the feet. There are a lot of joints in them feet.
