HOW LORSTER CAME TO BE | Arthritis Information

For those that don't know about history ... Here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic
hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer
and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of
beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to

the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were
the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

             1. Liberals, and
             2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning
of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet,
so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be
invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night
while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known
             as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live
off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the
sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the
             Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became
known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the
domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and
the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer
             that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most
powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by
             the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer
white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef
well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another
interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher
testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury
attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are
liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't
fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud. They eat red meat and
still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo
cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police
officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers
and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are
more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in
Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after
the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for
             nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history:

It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily
respond to the above before forwarding it.

A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute
truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true
believers and to more liberals just to piss them off.

And there you have it. Let your next action reveal your true self...

I consider myself conservative... but I did not find the post to be remotely humorous. Boy somebody (DONN)  has a burr up their butt!  Hillhoney2008-06-12 04:02:59LOL, I'm sure we all know who it is too.that was uncalled forI'm not sure why DONN found it necessary to pick on me. I'm not the only liberal on this site. DONN has some deep seeded issues with gay people. Liberals call these people bigots.Wow.

And what does it say about the original poster who actually created a whole thread for this?

I don't normally respond to stuff like this and don't know much about either the poster or Lorster but this is ignorant all on it's own.bigot

Main Entry:
big·ot
Pronunciation:
\ˈbi-gət\

noun
Etymology:
French, hypocrite, bigot
Date:
1660
: a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance
— big·ot·ed \-gə-təd\ adjective
— big·ot·ed·ly adverbHey DONN!!  this is a support forum ............  NOT a political debate forum.. nor an "attack the poster before you" forum......

so take your unwanted.. unnecessary.. unneeded.. undesired.... un-funny comments somewhere else.

ETA:  I'm neither liberal nor conservative across the board.. following the middle of the road here.
babs102008-06-11 13:33:15DONN is just in a lot of pain today. Trying to distract himself...which is fine. What ever it takes to find some pain relief. I can certainly relate today. You have your very own fan club That thread was totally unnecessary.  I consider myself an independent with a conservative leaning, but I still found that post offensive.  It's never OK to single somebody out for ridicule.  Say you're sorry, Donn and we can all move on.  DONN. Just curious about something. I was wondering since you seem to be a history expert. Who, the conservatives or liberals were responsible for slavery? I would love an educated answer.

HEY BABS10

LORSTER HAS SPREAD HER LIBERAL BABBLE ON THIS SUPPORT GROUP SITE. I JUST WANTED TO EXPLAIN THE DIFFERANCE BETWEEN A LIBERAL AND A CONSERVATIVE. FYI ONLY!

LIGHTEN UP GIRLS!!!   LOL
Sorry....besides the actual subject line I found that hilarious!

Had you not had the need to point that at one single member and just kept the original subject line; other's in our small group of conservatives would have agreed.
Lorster,

Why do you want to know about who is who in slavery. Nobody from this forum or this generation had anything to do with slavery. Even when slavery was, only 3 percent of american citizens owned slaves. Henry Ford was the biggest slave owner. Find an old timer that worked for Ford for 25 cents an hour. He was a slave driver. No breaks, if you had to break you were replaced. Find an old timer and see what it was like to work for Henry Ford. Anyway, here's some bits of slavery info.

Historical Fact Sheet

1877

Rutherford B. Hayes became president. Due to a dispute over electoral votes in the 1876 election, a political deal was struck in which Democrats agreed to vote in favor of Hayes as president, if he would agree to remove federal troops from the South and allow home rule. The removal of the federal troops ended the protection of African Americans in the South, essentially ended Reconstruction and opened the door for the proliferation of Jim Crow laws.

1896

Plessy v. Ferguson legalized the doctrine of "separate but equal," marking the beginning of Jim Crow laws and the acceptance of overt racist behavior by allowing white superiority to be institutionalized throughout the United States.

Anything else you want to know about slavery, Lorster?

LEV

Quite witty Donn but I am sorry, you do have  some conservatives that don't use their brains, take for example the minority whip, Roy Blunt, unemployment is at it's highest rate in 20 yrs, Dems are trying to pass a bill to help extend the unemployement benefits for a few weeks more for the unemployed and he said no because it would encourage the unemployed not to look for jobs.???? Donn....mean is mean, no matter what your politics are.  You should stop this.  You aren't making anyone think less of Lorster, you're just making yourself look like a jerk. This is why I don't come here as often as I use to.
Thanks to jerks like you DONN.

Me too.  This is supposed to be a "HELP" forum.  People (using that term loosely) who make themselves feel better by publicly ridiculing others only prove one thing...and that is that they are insecure.
Insecure people often confuse their Insecure behavior with that of Confidence. Insecurities floats to the surface in people when they feel threatened by others, afraid, and incompetent.  In other words, they lash out at others in harmful ways, often unprovoked,  just to feel better about themselves.  Insecure people tend to bully those around them and actually wish that they could be half of what others are. If you find yourself never having anything good to say about someone that has never done anything to you......you are Insecure. You secretly want what they have. You may secretly even want to be that person. If you find that you only want to be in the company of those who you believe to be less intelligent than you are.....you are Insecure.

I was married to someone like this for 13 years, and I am very skilled at recognizing the traits when I see them.

Donn...get some help.

Mean people suck!

I thought the board had turned around for the better for a long stretch. I still think it's pretty good for the most part.

Is there a moderator?

Would anyone mind if we just drop the last subject?

Peace & Love all around I wish the board was more anti-cyber bully.  They are the offensive ones.
I wish the board was more anti-cyber bully.  They are the offensive ones.
Here's the thing, Joy.  Telling Don or Levlarry that they are offensive only adds fuel to the fire. Saying something only makes the problem worse.  Most people around here, though, would welcome (or at least accept) a bit of a nudge when they cross the line.
i have edited all my posts .. and appologise to all ofended

Boney
This board used to be full of kind, honest intellegent people who helped each other through the good and bad times, we had chat evenings and had a laugh making sometimes silly comments but all good clean fun. One by one they have left with a handfull maybe remaining and some decent newbies as well. Eventually theres going to be no one left here whose main aim is to support one another through our battle with RA. Yes we can ignore posts like this but the newbies who join up will see something like this and go else where and maybe not get the help they need. Has RA made us  so bitter and twisted, is this another side effect of the disease. I came here a while back as i was very scared about my future and about the progression of my disease but i realised i wasnt alone and had the help of some wonderful people, I think each newbie who sign on here needs the same not posts like this to read. Most liberals are educated people.  HMMMMMMMMM  I wonder what the correlation is???????????
Most liberals are educated people.  HMMMMMMMMM  I wonder what the correlation is???????????
Yup all us consirvitives is a bunch of unlearned maroons.
Whats the point, im getting  out of here!! Good luck to any newbies that wish to venture on here, there is good help around if you look for it. I wish all my friends on AI pain free days and hope that somewhere you find a cure.
Whats the point, im getting  out of here!! Are you leaving too?  Come on.  This is supposed to be a little community - we're not always all going to agree; we all have different ideas as to what is normal and what might perhaps be thought to cross the line.  I don't see why people are upset because this discussion has taken place.  Is it not OK to voice concerns when something is upsetting to you?  I don't think any of the posts voicing such concerns were abusive or hurtful.  I certainly would hope someone would let me know (and believe me, it's happened) if I'm upsetting someone.

A community?  I thought this forum would be.  After all we all suffer from RA, and some of us suffer quite a bit, so one would think, that there would be a little more thoughtfulness, a little more civility in exchanges, why add to someone's stress when they are already dealing with a lot.

But disagreements occur, sometimes out of misunderstandings as we are not all perfect communicators especially in writing, and sometimes because we have different ideologies, but there isn't a need to ridicule a person or their beliefs, we should conduct ourselves with a degree of respect toward one another, at least a regard for their compromiised health.

Jas, you are an outspoken person, but generally you are fair.  But there are others that are very mean spirited.  You said to let you know if you upset anyone, well, I think you upset levlarry, as he has posted about you on the Medicare thread.

I too, think I will no longer be posting on this forum.  I do not have the energy to deflect  personal attacks.
LOL I never even noticed that Lev took another shot at me.   Water off a duck's back.

BIZZALOU,

IF THAT'S YOUR REAL PIC, YOU'RE GORGOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!up roars far worse than this have occurred let me assure everyone.....most of you that have been around awhile already know this and continue to visit. I always hate it when I see good friends here get upset and say goodbye because you know you'll miss the 90% of the people you came here to visit with.

Don't let stupid threads like this one deprive you o the pleasure this place has bought you.

We'd miss you if you left.
