This is something new for me. Sometimes when I walk I am getting sharp pain in my heels and ball of my foot. I am not wearing heels when this happens. They are not joints...so can I assume this is not RA related?
The balls of my feet were the first thing I noticed before being diagnosed and it's an area quite often impacted by RA. The toughest area to get settled down as well (along with those toe joints) Not sure on the heels, but someone else will be.
Pain in the balls of my feet also. it's funny that you say it's toughest area cause it's that way for me also.
Yep- the balls of my feet were one of my first symptoms. The pain was horrible. All better now the ball of my foot right where that big toe joint is on the bottom of both feet was horrible for me before I started treatments. Not too many problems since though. One GP told me it was due to "buions" and I'd need surgery to correct it. My first RD said no; it was related to RA and wait and see if the medication she gave me helped. It did.
When my feet are swollen, there is always a spot on the bottoms of my feet that puffs up and hurts like hell when I step down. When the swelling subsides, so does that particular pain.
