Whine-fell asleep wrong and wrenched back | Arthritis Information

Saturday night, after hubby and I came home from an evening out, I got sleepy and decided to lay in bed for a few minutes.  I left all the pillows at the head of the bed and just sorta reclined on them, but then I made the dreadful mistake of actually falling asleep without being on my side, pillow between my legs and the whole routine.

Twenty minutes later I woke up, but it was too late...my back was all effed up.  Since then (lessee, today's Tuesday?) I haven't been able to stand up straight.  I can barely walk around, and to make matters worse my knees are in bad shape from the RA, as well as my hands and feet.

Although my back usually doesn't do well if I'm in bed too long (even sleeping properly), it has actually been feeling better to sleep more the last few days.  So I did, sleeping particularly late this morning, and then I woke up with a headache.

There's really only one chair in the house that's good for my back, and that's the office chair at my computer desk.  Unfortunately that's also the hottest room in the house, and I am always hot to begin with.  Today it got to be 78 degrees in here, and I was not a happy camper.

As I explained to hubby, I will be 120% useless today (more than my normal 90%).    Apparently I am also 120% grouchy.  And now he is 120% grouchy and doesn't want to make dinner.

I think I'm ready to fast forward a few days to when I can gimp around like my normal slow but upright self.  Bleh!
I'd be grouchy too! That's what you get for falling asleep for 20 minutes? That stinks! Hope you feel better soon! Screw cooking- get some take out!Sorry about your back.
I do my best sleeping in mid-morning in my recliner with my neck pillow and heating pad.
(Sounds like a Clue game LOL)
I seriously need a new mattress. They are soooo expensive so the recliner is paid for and comfy. I hope you feel better soon!
take care

Sorry to hear about your back.

Why is it everytime we are grouchy we make the hubby grouchy too? Why can't they just not take offense about the RA attitude. I hate when my hubby gets grouchy right along with me. It just makes me even grouchier to hear him be grouchy, then comes the silent treatment. OH that is just freaking annoying! But... I do get some peace when I get the silent treatment. Most times hubby just goes to sleep and wakes up not so grouchy.

wanttobe, even better than takeout, we ended up with delivery.  Just some sub sandwiches (or whatever you call them in your particular location...) but better than cooking.

CinDee, that does sound like Clue!  I'm very fortunate that we were able to get a new mattress last year and since hubby doesn't care that much what it's like, I got to pick the one that is best for me.  Still need to be in the right position with the right pillows, though.

joonie, oh yes, grouchy is contagious, but so is kindness.  If he sees me being grouchy and can resist it (after all, his immune system works!) to be kind instead, then I would "catch it" and start being nicer myself.

Instead we had a battle over the thermostat.  I want my own personal A/C.  They can put me in some sort of spacesuit or something and just give me my own personal thermostat!
