GP visit today | Arthritis Information

My GP and I had a good visit today. I brought up the idea of going back to work and he actually suggested that it might be too soon, but he said it was up to me. He wants me to stay on the amitryptaline at 50mg and to keep taking the relafen for another three weeks proactively. If it doesn't work, he'll put me on something else. Fair enough. Back in six weeks.

Mab. Are you doing ok on the amitrytaline? I gained so much weight on this drug..but man did I sleep good. I miss that quality sleep but the weight gain was just not worth it for me. Mab, it does sound like a good visit. Maybe try to go back to work part time, if possible??

What type of work are you into, if you don't mind me asking?
I wish you another good dr visit in 6 weeks.
take care!
Yep sounds like a good visit. Hope the med kicks in for you.

I'm fine on the amitryptaline. My mouth feels like desert sand at least once a day and I need to take psyllium powder, but I like it.

I'm a geek; I mostly like doing computer things or office work where things aren't four alarm matters. I somehow managed to teach myself most everything save for a handful of courses.

Part time or temping sounds about right for starters. All depends. I really have to be fearless about this and I think that might take me just a bit longer. I'm busy doing some computer work to self order and it's been encouraging. Gettin' my chops back! mab, congratulations, this a huge milestone to achieve.  Best of luck ~~ CathyBest of luck to you! I know going back to work made me feel great! It felt so good to get into my routine again. [QUOTE=mab52]I'm fine on the amitryptaline. I took imipramine for a while in college; it has similar side effects to amitryptiline.  The dry mouth was especially annoying.  Make sure you take excellent care of your teeth - the dry mouth can make dental problems worse.   I drank lots of water to help deal with the constant dry mouth.

Best of luck!
