Just starting Lyrica | Arthritis Information

I just started Lyrica today due to increased Fibro Pain, Any thoughts ????  I would love to hear other peoples storiesI love it.  Helped me a lot.  Any side effects should go away in a week or so.  LindyYes, initially the side effects (especially dizziness, sleepiness and just-plain-out-of-it-ness) can be a bit overwhelming, but I found they disappeared within 2-3 weeks.  Also it's best if you start on a low dose and work your way up.  It has been a fantastic medication for me and I'm glad I stuck out those first few weeks.

If for any reason you need to stop, however, be aware that this is one of those meds that should be tapered down.  An infectious disease specialist I saw for daily fevers thought it was due to the Lyrica and told me to quit immediately.  That was really unpleasant (to put it mildly) and also unnecessary...the fevers were actually from my RA onset (which took a few more months to get sorted out) and had nothing to do with the med.

I hope it helps you!
I take it for neuropathy and it works better than anything else I've used. It did cause dizziness at first....but it gets better.

It has caused weight gain....so be aware.
I hear you on the dizziness ! I wake up to take my morning dose about 3 then go back to sleep til 6. I would hate to feel that way at workWhoops, I forgot about the weight gain.  I started Lyrica and Humira about the same time and you don't want to know how much I've gained.  I had no choice but to go into remission so I could start exercising!!!  LindyWeight gain ewwww. My gosh between that and the prednisone, I getting keep my mouth shut LOLI also started Lyrica & Humira at the same time when I started Humira the first time 3 years ago. I went off Humira for a year but continued the Lyrica and continued to gain weight so I blame it on that. I also went into menopause about that same time too so that could also be part of the problem. Hard to tell.

Chrise; How much Lyrica are you taking? I take 150mg all at once before bed....or a few hours before. It helps not to be so dizzy by morning....and it seems to last for me. You might be able to do that.
