Buckeye....that is good to know. I am looking for a gentle movement/whole body exercise so this might be just the ticket.
This is interesting reading I just found.
Cheers....Lyn
Lynn, I've practiced Tai Chi over the years and I love it. It's one of the things that I seek out when we're traveling. Even in the little town where we're spending the summer I've found Tai Chi classes. I find it more relaxing than anything I've tried. If you're in or around a large city look for classes that are held outside. It's great for balance but because I don't practice it everyday I've lost that aspect of it. I'm not real good about practicing anything everyday. Have fun with it. LindyI do Tai Chi 2 days a week in a nearby park and find it great exercise for RA. It has helped my balance especially. I 'd fallen some in the last few years, once broke my wrist, and another time my ankle. Tried yoga and found it stressed my hands, wrists, knees and feet too much. I also, swim 6 days a week and am pain free for about 2 hrs afterwards. Sometimes have to force myself to go exercise, but the swimming helps better than anything. A lot of it might have to do with the 10-15 minutes we spend in the hot tub afterwards. Oh, is it ever heaven!
I actually had a really hard time with Tai Chi...well, I guess that would be putting in mildly. I would feel extremely nauseated when holding positions--it just hurt. I actually ended up passing out...that was my last class. Don't know why it bothered me so. I do exercise regularly and haven't had anything else make me feel that way.
But...everybody else I know who does the classes love it. I am just the wierdo!!
