My gum line? | Arthritis Information

Share

Guess maybe it is an infection. My gum line on my lower jaw is inflamed. Just has a white line across it on both sides. Always something. Really is agonizing to brush my teeth. I am going to have to start making more money if i am going to have all of these dental problems.

The oral surgen and the dentist said my teeth are really in good shape. So one would think i could make it a week or two with a dx like that.

It just gets so confusing at times. I do not know if i should call RD or primary or dentist to many different symptems. Maybe i need to call all of them?

I think i will take a nap first. It sounds kind of exhausting.

Oh, sweetie!  Hang on!

After the nap, have you considered brushing with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide?

Hugs,

Pip
Hi Milly, Pip suggested just what I was going to suggest.  I rinse my mouth everyday with a diluted peroxide mix and it's helped with sensitive gums and also plaque.  I've never had a sore from MXT either.  Get the 3% at the drugstore and mix about 3:1, 3 water/1 HP.  LindyWarm salt water seems to work well for me when I have gum irritations.

Poor Milly,

What does the sore look like? A white line going across the length of your jaw?  Or is it just around one tooth?  Is it on the area that is a tougher part of your gum, or lower, like into the pocket of your cheek area?  Describe it to me and I'll see what I can come up with for you.  Meanwhile, be careful not to traumatize it with your toothbrush.  Warm salt rinses are great, but make sure you have enough salt in your 8 oz. of really warm water...you need like 2 tablespoons full.  Tastes yucky, but that's the best strength.
I'm experiencing the same "symptom" - small white line, locating on the upper part (the tougher part, away from the gum line) with slight inflammation about it, redness, and some soreness when pressured from outside the mouth (scale 2 out of 10). No throbbing, not redness running along any vessels connecting to the area. line is about 1 cm long and about 1 mm wide. Been there 3 days now. Could have been a scratch but I don't think so. Have seen staph infection before as a "white dot" with red inflammation lead away, about it, on my toe once - just want to make sure this is not that. Thx all,Don't know the answer but sure hope you feel better soon!
