have a great day...
Rusty, I'm glad you weren't hurt.  Don't feel bad, I've done that very same thing for years now.  I never attributed it to the disease process, but who knows? I just thought I was becoming a klutz in my old age.

Once your neighbors get to know you better, they'll realize what's really going on.  Maybe you should tell them?
I'm sorry that you fell up the steps, just be glad it was up and not down.
I was klutzy before RA and now I'm worse so I have to be really careful.  Take care.  Lindy
Glad you are ok. It must be falling season for us RA'er's!

I do not think I have fell up steps, only down them. I am probably the only person who fell on a moving sidewalk at the airport

Tomorrow should be a better day!
My best fall was after my daughter's graduation. It was a rainy, raw day and I got chilled to the bone which made all my joints ache. So as soon as we got home I put on the wood stove and I was going to wrap up in a blanket and take a nap in my recliner. It needed to be pulled away from the wall a little so I grabbed the chair by the foot rest and pulled. The foot rest pulled out abruptly, sending me flying backward right on my back and my head just missed the cast iron stove! No laughing allowed.....I was in the gym and on the treadmill preRA, trying to look all girly but fit when all of a sudden my knee buckled and I flew off the treadmill.  I looked like a cartoon character, just a blur of sweats and long hair being flung across the floor.   I got a lot of attention but not the kind that I wanted.  My pride was hurt more than my body.

WTBF, you got to watch out for those moving chair partsLinB,

Sounds like you need to watch out for moving treadmills.

Ok... so now... we got moving treadmills, moving chairs, and moving sidewalks.

I am starting to get the picture here.... we just need to stay away from anything moving or that can be moved [QUOTE=justsaynoemore] If I don't have a couple of bruises on my thighs, I wasn't moving too fast at work that week.  I hit everything, bounce down walls of hallways.  All I need is a clown suit
I like the tripping over nothing trick...theres nothing there yet for some reason the toe of your shoe drags on the ground and makes you stumble. You try to play it off and turn around and look down like some stumbling block is going to appear- there's nothing there! It's almost as good as the clumsy hand tricks that reach for pencils but send them sailing across the room instead!
[QUOTE=wanttobeRAfree]LOL Jasmine- that would definitely be dangerous! My daughter is might clutzy. She is always doing something to hurt herself.

Yesterday, she got half of her hair all tangled up in a round brush. She was trying to "curl" her damp hair. Yeah... she did not brush it for like 2 days, and then washed it. So her hair had a lot of tangles in it. Then she tried to roll her hair up in a round brush. It took me 45 mins to get all of her hair out of the brush!
I have been having same problems....a few days ago I fell up the stairs twice. I have since given up wearing flip-flops. I actually bruised the tips of my fingers when I caught myself. It was weird the tips of my fingers were purple.
So, please can we add stairs to the list??? We have to come up with a new name for non-moving stairs that you fall up.

*thinking*
[QUOTE=joonie]but moving stairs are called escalators.  We have to come up with a new name for non-moving stairs that you fall up.

Ok now we need a name for non-moving yard potholes!
Stationary ground dips

good one!

Now, around here you have to watch out for old sewer holes. Yep... one wrong step you could be in a pile-o-sh*t! They just look like a slight slope, but if you ever step there it is a BIG deep pothole, or sh*thole.
joonie2008-06-24 21:33:18Craphollacraptrap Humm... now it looks like we need to do a poll on which one is the best for it!

I like craptrap!

Sometimes the way I figure out that I am having hip problems again is that I stub my toes on EVERYTHING, because I'm subconsciously shuffling and not picking up my feet as high, but my inner navigation doesn't know about it! :)
