Professor Bhaskar Dasgupta, well known internationally for his research into PMR and GCA has requested that the NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) clear and issue 'gold standard' diagnostic procedures for PMR and GCA for all GPs and Consultant Rheumatologists through out the UK. Professor Dasgupta has a small research grant and it is linked with Essex University.
This will be a major breakthrough for all PMR and GCA patients.
Help the Aged (a UK Charity) research arm has also given a grant for research into 'what causes GCA'. A Dr Sarah Mackie is lead researcher.
It would be nice if all you people out their contacted the NMR Foundation located in the USA and helped in anyway you could to assist them in their aim for cause and cure.
The more people who are willing to help - the faster we might get 'cause and cure'.
