CO2 levels | Arthritis Information

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else consistently had low CO2 levels.  Mine always come back below normal, but no doctor says anything.  I went thru my records to b4 I got sick w/ RA, and I used to be in the normal range.  Right up until my first symptom of RA.  Is this an RA thing?

High CO2 levels are usually caused by some disorder of breathing... like asthma or emphysema but can also be associated with diabetes. You have any of those things?I don't have any of those diseases.  Diabetes is in my family, though.  You associated them with 'high' CO2 levels, and mine have been low.  Is it a factor which way it is out of range?

Take care,

CO2 reflects the acid status of your blood. Low CO2 levels can be due to either to increased acidity from uncontrolled diabetes, kidney disease, metabolic disorders, or low CO2 can be due to chronic hyperventilation

are you nervous when you get your blood tested?
Hi Buckey,

Thank you for your response.

I'm so used to getting my blood checked, I don't think my body is anxious.  However, I am a very shallow breather.  But I have been for years.  B4 the low CO2 scores.

There is a test at the health store that is supposed to test ph balance or something.  Would that be helpful?
