I was not over 10 lbs, but I was 9 lbs at birth, despite the fact that I am now only 5'2"!  My sister was 9.5 lbs.  Both my boys are now well below the 50th percentile in height/weight, but they were 8 lbs and 7 lbs 10 oz at birth.  Thank god not as big!

Anyone over 10 lbs? 4.54 kg I think it said?
I was just over 7 pounds. Interesting article.

My sons were 9lb 10 oz  and  10lb 12oz. I may have to start going to mass more often and say a little prayer. It can't hurt.  No idea how big I was.
[QUOTE=RAJay]Interesting article. No I was just a little over 6lbs. Hello!  Just over 6 lbs, and 22 inches long here.

Brooke

I was over 9 lbs, but not 10.  Very interesting.

I was 6 pounds 2 oz.
My children were 6 pounds 8 oz, 4 pounds 1 oz, and 4 pounds 13 oz
Hmmmm, well I was shy of 10 lbs by a few ounces    (My poor 5 ft Mom)  But my sister, who also has RA-like symptons, not postive RA factor like me, she weighed a little over 7 lbs, I think my Mom may have cut back on vitamins not to have another giant baby.
6 lb 6 oz here..............I read that and wondered if someone had posted it.I was just over 6lbs. My boys were 8 lbs, and 5 lbs. The 8lb son was always way over the 100 percentile growing up for height and 80th for weight. My 5 lb baby was always around the 10th percentile for height and weight, now both are over 6 feet tall and about 185lbs of muscle, lol. I am 5'2". owiemom, hearing about your 5 pounder who is now over 6 feet makes me feel better!  My son was 7 lbs 10 oz at birth and he is now below the 5th percentile of the curve.  They are not worried about him because he is staying on a curve, growing regularly (just behind the curve).  He is 16 months and can walk, almost run, says about 20 words, doing great.  But he is still a hair shy of 20 lbs and he fits perfectly in 9-12 month clothes.  I doubt he will be a 6 footer, just hoping he gets on the curve soon!katie, my little guy was so tiny and ate like a bird. It wasn't until he was 4 that they discovered he had a grossly obstructed airway because of huge tonsils and adnoids. I still fume to think about how many times he went in for ear infections, then tubes, etc. and no one caught it. Anyway they removed them and warned me he would lose 5-10 lbs  as he was recovering, but not to worry, because now that he could eat like a normal child, he would catch up. He went back for his one week re-check and he gained 10 lbs in a week! The poor kid was used to eating one grain of rice at a time or one kernel of corn, and now, yikes! He never got chubby, he just grew and grew....My little guy eats like a horse!  He may just be small.  I of course worry that there is something wrong, but he acts normally and doesn't have problems with anything, really.  He is scrappy so maybe he'll be a wrestler or jockey or something :)  I just hope he gets to 5'6" or so.  How old is he Katie?16 months.  He's still around 19 pounds!  Cute little guy.  Just small.  When he gets sick, he never gets fevers, and I don't think he's ever thrown up.  He's not really skinny--just short!  I had a really hard pregnancy with him, was sick a lot, couldn't get over colds, etc. but he was a good size at birth, had super high AGPAR, etc.  I breastfed him through 11 months but we offered solids at 6 months and he had loved to eat from the beginning.  We shall see...my husband is only 5'8" but he's on track to be much shorter...Good for you!! I  breastfed too but not that long.  My boys are 4 and 2 and the two year old is still pretty short but my 4 years old was like that until about 3 and that he just kept growing.  Now the doctor says he is as tall as a 5 year old!  Don't give up hope, but if you happen to have a shorty oh well.  I forgot to mention that my husband is 6'2" and I am 5'2" so we could very well have a short guy.KatieG and Owie... my daughter had GINORMOUS tonsils that occluded her airway when she slept, as a matter of fact she fell asleep in the ENT's office while we were in the waiting room. The person taking us back to a room actually brought the doctor to the waiting rrom so he could listen to her snore, while sitting straight up. After she had her tonsils out, she grew like a weed.Interesting!  I may ask the ped about that at the 18 month visit!I was 7lbs 7oz at birth.  My oldest son was 8lbs 11 3/4 oz and 22 in long.  My youngest was four weeks early and weighed in at 6lbs 7 oz and was 19 1/2 in long.  The oldest is 6'1" and the youngest is 6'3".My birth weight was 5lbs 1oz and I'm now 5ft 2ins and 120lbs.hmm.  I dont' see the correlation ..

I was 7lb 7 oz.
my kids were 9.9lb, 8.2lb, 9.14lb, 8.4lb.,  9.11lb (the 9 lb'ers are my boys)
Maybe its just that the few people who are 10+ are at increased risk, but there are so few 10+ babies, they are not represented here...
