MTX, Folic Acid, Meloxicam.

I find the inclusion of Meloxicam (Mobic) interesting only b/c it seems like no one else here is on it!  Also been trying to sort out this nonsense about how it is a COX-2 in Europe but not in the US?  Wonder if that's why it is prescribed a lot?  Works as well as Vioxx/Celebrex but not considered (in US) as dangerous?  But is it?  Hope not!

I would have thought prescription strength naproxen would be there instead...
Meloxicam (Mobic) is a preferential COX-2 inhibitor.  It can inhibit COX-1, but to a much lesser extent.

I've used it; it worked OK, but I prefer naproxen.  I don't have to worry about scripts; if I need some, I can run to the drugstore and pick it up for under .
It would be interesting to see the supplements that are prescribed/recommended by rheumatologists.  Mine recommends fish oil.  For that matter, so do my husband's cardiologist and dentist.  My OB/GYN also recommended it for all pregnant patients. Our GP friend says it is considered malpractice in Europe not to rx fish oil for cardiac patients. Husband's cardiologist would definitely agree!

Yikes just the name fish oil turns my stomach and I hate fish too. I look at the supplements in the store and read how this brand doesn't give fish burps and I'm like do I want to try this? Yeah...not so much.

My RD is right in line with the top 3 prescrips on the list. Maybe because I'm still on prednisone but I don't need any antinflammatories right now.
I've been on fish oil for the last 5 years on the recommendation of my cardiologist.  Rather fish burps than blips on my EKG.  In fact, I haven't had any problems with fish taste.  It's one of the supplements that has scientific back up and is really important to heart health.  Lindy
Yikes just the name fish oil turns my stomach and I hate fish too.
It's probably the one thing that doesn't seem to have any real issues.

Not true... especially at higher doses, it can cause increased blood glucose levels, prolonged bleeding time (surgery complications, increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke), elevated triglycerides/cholesterol (usually helps blood lipids, but it can also increase the "bad" ones), increased susceptibility to infection...

Especially at higher doses, you should definitely talk to your doctor if you plan on adding/increasing fish oil.
Hi guys, I am on 6, was on 7 until recently!  Guess that means my RD is on the ball!  Thanks Lynn, from Janie.
How many MGS are recommended?
3,000 mg omega-3's (combined DHA and EPA) per day.  Usually about 10 regular fish oil capsules.

Definitely check with your doctor before starting such a regimen.
This was a 3 month review of prescriptions written so nothing was counted for extended amounts.  With the number of 60 and 90 day supplies written and refills  you can have 1 script and multiple month supplies so this would also scew the numbers.

At this point in time I'm only on 1 of the top 10 (celebrex).  I blew past everything else on that list years ago
Used to take plaquenil, taking Mobic, Methotrexate, Folic Acid, have been on Hydrocodone aka Lortab. Personally I can't tell that Mobic does a thing, was recently on Celebrex till my gut started bleeding and had to stop it. I also have a love/hate relationship with prednisone.wow i am on 4 of those, metho, folic, prednisone, hydrox=plaquenil, and meloxicam=mobic.
