I was just on some Tasha Tudor sites looking for quotes.  Haven't looked at any of her pictures or read any of her writings for a long time and I was awed at how wonderful she was.  I'm very sorry to hear of her passing.  I don't know of anyone else like her.  Lindy

Hi Jan,

I saw a program on Tasha Tudor once.  Didn't she write a book about corghi's (those funny dogs w/short legs)  I love them, and that's how she caught my attention.  She lived a charmed life - a rustic, simple life in tune w/nature in Vermont.  I think when I saw a program about her she was in her 70s or 80s and still hauling in her firewood.  Sad she is gone, but she brought much joy into the world with her delightful books.
Tasha's artwork was featured in about 80 books, including a l944 edition of "Mother Goose".   After publishing her first book, "Pumpkin Moonshin" in l938, she illustrated a number of classics, including l962 editions of "The Secret Garden" and "The Night Before Christmas".  Her final book, "Corgiville Christmas, published in 2003, reflected her passion for the Welsh corgi dogs she surrounded herself with and also featured in
the book that was her favorite - "Corgiville Fair" (l971)

Her work has been shown in museums, including the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum in Colonial Williamsburg and the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Va.

She once said, "I believe in moderation in all things except gardening and antique collecting."

She was a great artist and has left us a wonderful legacy I would say.
