How are the wedding plans going? It's getting closer...everyone must be very excited!Aw, thank you for asking - that's so sweet!  Plans are proceeding rapidly now.  Went tonight to see a sample of the centerpieces for the tables and finalize the flowers and linens.

Invitations have been sent out and now we are waiting for responses.  I think a lot of their friends from Chicago won't be able to make it, because of the cost of gas and air fare.  But we'll still have about 110 people.

How's your daughter doing in her new place?  Does she like it?
Are the centerpieces of a nautical theme? What kind of flowers did she choose? That's a shame the high cost of everything will prevent some friends from being able to make it- but it's certainly understandable. 110 is a nice size.

My daughter hasn't moved yet- she still has a month left at home but she is getting very excited! She is packing up all her "stuff" and boy is there a lot of it. I can't wait to take over her closet LOL! She is also glad to be leaving her present job and starting her teaching position.

Thanks for asking!
The start of a new chapter in both of our daughter's lives.  So exciting!

The tables are covered with a vivid turquoise tablecloth, and natural colored fishing net.  The centerpieces are conch shells filled with pink and white flowers and small loose shells scattered on the table.  Then the favors are tiny tin pails with Yankee Candle votives in them (with beachy themed scents of course).  This wedding sounds absolutely fabulous! You have come up with some very original and tasteful ideas!

I may come to you for consulting services when it's my daughter's turn....

Hillhoney...the tables and centerpieces sound so nice!  I hope you'll be able to share some photos here with us all sometime after the big day.  When is the wedding??

We've just started with the planning of my daughters wedding.  She'll be getting married next May.  She has most everything arranged already, but it always seems there's always something else that needs to get done.
Thanks you two!  The wedding is at 5:30 pm, Aug. 8, 2008.

Kelly, I know you and your daughter will have as much fun planning her wedding as Tori and I have.  When she first got engaged, we would talk on the phone or instant messenger every night, looking at things together - her in Chicago and me at home.  It was so fun - especially when we found find something particularly hideous and send it to the other, acting as though we really liked it, LOL!

Our budget is really tight, and we have been so lucky to find bargains all along the way, and really keep the costs down.  And somehow the challenge in that was exciting, especially when we would score a huge bargain.

Wannabe, you and your daughter we be having the fun of decorating her new place together soon.  That will be a great time too!

Oh, just a few more weeks.  I'm sure as exciting as it's been to organize the wedding, it'll be nice to have it behind you.  Will you be making a speech at the reception?  I did one for my son's wedding, so I knew I'd have to do another for Lyndsay's wedding.  I'm pretty much done now, just some finishing touches left to do for it.  I just hope I don't get too emotional during the speech

I love finding a good bargain as well.  So I know what you mean.  Weddings cost so much, so it pays to look for/find good bargains.
I get soooo emotional over my kids- when my daughter gets married I 'll be a real mess! I still remember getting all choked up and teary watch a dress rehersal of her first dance recital when she was 4! I'm looking around at the other mom's wondering why aren't they crying? Don't they look so perfectly sweet?

We are having a great time picking out stuff for her new apartment. I went to a textile sale and saw a shower curtain I thought might or might not go with her theme so I called her and she said can you take a picture of it with your phone? I'm like...well I guess but I don't know if I'll be able to send it to you! Well out came my reading glasses so I could try and see how to turn the camera on- then I took a picture of myself by accident...finally figured it out and sent it. Good thing- she said no thank you.
Oh, waterproof and smearproof mascara will definitely be called for, that's for sure!

Karen, the decorations sound like such fun.  WE WANT PICS.  My son got married 5 years ago and they left the cake, decorations, flowers, and reception up to me.  I made her head dress, bouquets, and table settings.  I had such a wonderful time and thankfully Melissa loved it.  You'll be so proud and happy for them.  Tears of joy.  Lindy
