I love light weight machines but I also do the treadmill or the recumbant bike for at least 1/2 hour. I have damaged knees(not from RA)so if they are acting up I find the bike works better for me. I am continually trying to strengthen my quad muscles so my knees are less stressed. I just feel much better when I exercise regularly. I find when I slack off I tend to have some flare ups.
