Used to post and chat here often years ago as Ross , hope some of you remember me but if not I am a 44 yr old male with Ra(21 yrs )and osa ( 5 yrs ). Was in remission til about 1 year ago and have gone down hill since. My big question is , In the last 6 months my hands have been killing me but the big problem is  that when I flare it seems like my intercoastals ( the muscles between my ribs ) do not want to let my lungs fill up . Does any one else have this problem ?breathing Problemsit sounds like maybe costochronditis but as for what to do i am sorry i have no suggestions.  sorry you came out of remission!

Ross,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your breathing and pain. Mind if I ask what meds you take and which ones put you into remission? Hope you find some relief soon.

Leslie

Leslie, I am now taking Daypro , hydrcodone and morphine. I have had RA for 21 yrs now so I have been through most of the meds. I went into " remission " on Remicade ( 600mg monthly ) but had to quit because insurance no longer covered. Am working with a new rhuemmy now to get Remicade but as I have only been seeing him for a year now ( I moved ) , it will take time and time before he really believes me when I express the amount of pain I am in.

As the RA is now actually making it impossible to work , I am in the process of applying for disability , so if anyone has any tips on that also Please let me know.
