twitches.......is it stress? | Arthritis Information

I have just started having these little twitches.  Looking on the internet it says that it could be due to stress.  I just found out today that I have osteoarthritis.  Could this be part of the reason for the twitching.  So far it is not noticable to anyone else but it is driving me crazy.  Let me know if anyone has any info on this!  Thanks a million!

there is a post in the RA section by training girl about the same problemHave your Throid levels checked

Twitching  that I have experienced was from a herpes virus acting on the nerves especially in the thighs. Made everything very sore and was the reason for countless sleepless nights.

Magnesium helps but the antiviral aciclovir is the treatment. It worked.

I know alot of us with RA get twitching in the muscles. I believe it caused by the inflamation putting pressure on the nerves. tends to happen when we are swelling. So I guess that it could happen that way with osteo also. Swelling is swelling. You should always get things checked out. There are other causes like potasium defiecancy for example.

I always get some bloodwork done when I experience something new unknown and bothersome. It seems just when I start to blame everything on the arthritis some new problem arises. So best to run it by the doctor.
There are many factors which can cause muscles to involuntarily twitch. For instance, muscle twitching can be a result of low serum calcium levels. Have you had lab work done on your blood?
