I haven't looked it over yet, but it sounds intriguing.  We definitely need to cut our dependence on foreign oil. I agree we really do depend to much on foreign oil. Here in AZ we are up to almost .00 for premium gas. Outrageous! !  I see people in the line to pay and they'll have sodas, beers, snacks whatever and you'll hear them say, and put whats left on gas; as opposed to this and x amount on gas. A sign of the times.  I lived through the 70's gas woes and I think we need to do something soon or were going to be in a heap of hurt. There is a Natural gas pump where I work and I know most if not all of our school buses use it. Many businesses and corp. are using CNG. But if more  could be done that would help. Like Mr. Pickens  said  something needs to be done and it will  take the right leadership to get it done. mom2threeinaz2008-07-11 11:54:42I knew his daughter(she passed away more than a year ago) and she was a big Bush/Cheney supporter. I'm not sure I would trust anyone associated with the current administration anymore.

Go look at who this man throws him political contributions to.I agree totally Lori but also look and see if anyone else has a plan of action that sounds reasonable and who has the resources.  Of course he will make a second fortune from wind energy but I'm looking at the whole issue of not having any alternative resources.  No one seems to have a big picture plan.  Sure there are pockets with turbines for wind energy (Calif, Tx, Wa.) but those are small producers compared to what Pickens has outlined.  Sometimes we need someone like him to pull it all together.  I wish it were someone else who I could align myself with but it's not.  Let's just hope that his plan can be put into action.  Lindy In my opinion if we wait much longer to do Somethiing
it will be too late.  I live on the ocean and wind turbines have been proposed but folks are afraid they will spoil the view.  With a new increase of 22% in electricity in this area, the view doesn't seem all that important.

Well, he did invest 2B of his own money into wind energy. Maybe we need to see what is in his plans. Someone with some influence and money has to take some initiative and drive us down a different path. My power bill this month was 269.00....in July!! I'm ready.
