I got a call from the Butte Imaging, and they said they they wanted to confirm my scan for Tue.  When I said I couldn't remember having an appointment, they said that the Doctor had call them to set it up.   When I ask what part they wanted to scan she said my throat.  This is very scary.  I went in Mon. to have a sore checked in my mouth and they took a biopsy.  Is this there way of telling me on a Fri. when I can't get a hold of anyone that it was cancer,  why else would they want a scan?  I go back to the doctor on Mon.  what is the hurry,  why didn't they call  me.   I have a white patch in my mouth that I didn't think much about because I was alway told that cancer was dark.  my partial was rubbing it.

Between the RA and problem caused by the meds and the neruitis and trying to care for my husband, I just don't know what else can go wrong.
Rusty, that is so awful, I am sorry!  Try not to assume the worst.  Focus your energy on contacting your doctor and getting them to communicate why they weren't more clear about this!

I'm so sorry.  Hang in there!!!

Does your clinic/doctor have an after-hours number?   Odds are that they won't be able to tell you anything, but I thought I'd suggest it.  Easier said than done, but try not to worry, it seems like tests are done so much more frequently now and it doesn't always mean bad news.   Kind of crappy that they would set it up and not call you though - I would make sure you express that on Monday when you see your doc.

Think positive thoughts!
Sorry they left you in the dark! I agree call your doctor Monday and ask questions so you can put your mind at ease.
Best wishes that all is fine.
much hugs to you, rusty.

Keep us posted!
It is cancer, haveing a lot of test done to see if it is anywhere else,  she is going to do surgery on the 24th.
You better be careful,  since I have had RA, everytime something would go numb or not feel right I was told o it's just the Ra,  don't worry about it, well after 26 years of Ra I just gritted my teeth and said its just the Ra and went on with life.  I go to the RA doc 4 times a year, gp 4 times a year,  eye doc 4 times a year.  unless I really know something is wrong I don't go inbetween.  I just take the meds they give me and keep my mouth shut.   When I got a sore in my mouth I went to the denist and was told my partial was rubbing and they took a little off, so I didn't worry about it.  now, that sore is cancer.  The jaw pain I have had off and on for years so why pay attentent to it,  the numbmess in my face is nothing new,  I have a lot of nerve damage from RA.  Pay attentent to whats going on with your body, don't let anyone call it just RA.  Another thing she would not give me a answer on weather on not the cytoxin and imuran cause it, she said well they can cause cancer.
I may have to go off my RA meds so I can fight the cancer.  Oh well tomorrow is another day and I hope it is better than this one.
Take care all

Oh my dear Rusty, I am so sorry to hear that it is cancer! I can't believe the doc didn't call you herself and talk to you about it. She really dropped the ball and let you down.

My thoughts and prayers are with you through all the testing and the upcoming surgery. Please know you are in my heart. Please let me know what you find out, Sweetie.

I hope you have lots of support from family and friends. Let them help you through this. It seems to help when you've got loved ones to help you carry the burden. You know you have many friends here who care about you deeply.

Much love and gentle hugs,
Nini
Sorry about the news. Is it something that the surgery can cure? I'll be praying for that outcome. Best of luck on the 24th.Thanks everyone...you are all great
I haven't told anyone, I have family and church family, I don't know how to tell them, i know I will make it worst by crying.   They had a late birthday party for me over the weekend and I didn't want to ruin it for them.  I won't really know how bad it is before all the test are in.  I had a chest xray and jaw bone scan today and a throat scan  tomorrow.   it's been there a long time and she said there was no way to tell when it turned to cancer or if it has spead,  till after test.
again thanks for careing
Rusty, we are all pulling for you.  Keep us informed - if its been there for years, perhaps its localized.  Take care CathyRusty,

I'm sorry about your test results.  Hang in there.  I'll say a prayer for you.

Rusty,
I'm so sorry to read this news.  All I can say is that if it's been there a long time that is good news.  I wish you the best of luck with the surgery and will keep you in my daily prayers until then.
Ann

Prayers for you.  I have a friend who had cancer of the palette twice and recovered.

Rusty I am a very newbie to this forum, but one can see that you are a well respected and well loved member by the fellowship here!
My best wishes go out to you and hope that all will turn out  good for you  they have made great strides in treating cancer and hopefully you will be on your way to a complete remission very soon!

Rusty, I'm so sorry!  I just wanted to tell you, I also know of a man who successfully fought throat cancer several years ago.  The treatments are so superior to what they used to be.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Please let us know how you're doing.
