Hello,

I do believe it's time to chat the night away!  Where ya hiding folks?I'm here. Just took a cake out of the oven- it's my daughter's birthday tomorrow. Got her a bunch of things she needs for her new apt.Oh, what kind of cake?  I would like some cake!

My daughter's birthday was Friday.  She wanted Cold Stone Creamery cake - we got the one called Triple Chocolate Romance.  It was pretty good, but I think I like regular old chocolate cake better.
Hello everyone,
I am here too. Not a lot going on just unwinding from the end of my 55hr week. I am not to happy about that being as I am salary.
I did have a good meal when I got home. Tuna patties, green beans, anglefood cake with fresh stawberries. Ya know, I'm feeling kinda hungry now!

Glad you're here Jay.  Not sure where the rest of the crew is?
I have only had Cold Stone one time and that was in Hawaii on the beach just after sunset. But it was pretty good.We all like to eat almost anytime! Some of the food people talk about just makes my mouth water. Of course I am 20 lbs "healthier" than I ever have been. The Hawaii at sunset part sounds darn good!  Hillhoney- guess what? It is chocolate! Tomorrow I will ice it with chocolate icing too but it is just too hot here not to do it last minute!

I love those Cold Sone Creamery cakes but they are a fortune aren't they!

Sometimes I lie in bed at night and think about what I will have for breakfast and lunch the next day......I too LOVE to eat!
I will be over tomorrow for a piece of cake!

Yeah, I've heard that there are actually people who just eat to live, but I really do live to eat.
How is your summer so far Karen? I am just riding the changes in the Arline world to see were I end up. Pretty scarry over-all. Over half of our salaried staff is no longer there, and they are very slow to backfill the positions if they fill them at all.
Oh well I could always find another job. Who wouldn't want to hire a arthritic that need extra time off every 4-6 weeks. Ha Ha Ha
That is really scary, Jay.  I hope you can ride it out.  I see why you're working all those long hours.  Everything is scary right now, I must admit.

Our summer has been extremely busy, but good.  Since my hubby is a consultant, we don't take vacations anymore unfortunately.  No vacation days when you are self-employed.  But we have plenty of things going on every weekend, so the summer is screaming by at break-neck speed.  Wish I could hold onto it.
Come on over- you can help us sing!

RAJay- what do you do in the airline field?
I am a supervisor in the ground maintenance department. Basicaly we fix everything but the planes.

Any good TV shows anyone is waching this summer?  Intervention, The Closer, Army wives, and Law and Order are few of mine?
Well, I will confess, I love "America's Got Talent" and "Best Comic Standing".  Intervention is too sad for me, I can't stand seeing the poor families devestated by their family member's addiction.  Yes I watch those two also. I tape almost all of them so I can speed watch them. I guy singing opera in the first episode of AGT was awesome. I have been a little disapointed in the comedy overall. That guy was amazing!  But I like the really BAD acts the best I think.  People are so weird!  Some of the things they come up with as "talent" is unbelieveable!Any good show or act coming around this year madam usher?
I talked to my wife about volenteering and she is not interested. Party pooper.
Well, my son is in Play it Again Sam right now, and that's very good, if I do say so myself!!!!

Brian Wilson is coming on Wednesday, but I won't be ushering for anything for a while, until I "get me hips fixed"!

Maybe you should start doing it without her, she might come around when she see's you're having fun.
I have though about that as well. I just may have to check into it.

I have a hard time figuring out if my aches and pain are autoimmune related or just plain getting older. I am just a young pup at 42 so it has to be the RA. LOL - My dad used to call it the "idiot box"  - I haven't heard that for years!  Must mean you ARE old.

That does not sting very bad coming from a SEA HAG I PM'ed like 8-10 people were the heck are they. I thought for sure Gale and Joonie would be here at least!Yeah, a sea hag who will be hitting the big FIVE OH this year.  So even if you're old, I have you beat!

I still have all my original parts, but I seem to be wearing them out at a faster rate these days.  It's like a car - once you break that 100,000 mile mark, things start to go!
I expect you to embrace 50 boldly. Any plans yet or is it going to be a surprise?  I expect to have a few refurbished parts by the time I get to 50.

Honestly the number doesn't bother me at all - never growing up means never growing old!

I just sent Brisen an email - don't know where she, Mona, Katie and others are???  They forgot us I guess or dumped us for something fun!
  Hi You Guys!!
Kind of hard to type one handed, loopy, sleeping 24/7 lol Doing better now though'
How is everyone?

Hi Mona,
It has been a long time.  I am doing pretty well overall.
YAY!!!   Mona is in da house!

What you been doing with that hand to get yourself so sore, huh?
Hey Jay just read you PM, what luck to be here tonight. I was doing pretty good til I got the bursitis last week.
Karen I don't know what I did but I don't remeber it being fun.
How are those hips doing"
I talked to Gale for the first time in months  a week or so ago...she's good, just busy.
Dang, I was hoping it was something fun!

Well all I can figure out is it might be hauling my big butt out of "my new tanning bed"
(no preaching please! it helps my fibro)

Preaching! Not from me more like jealousy I love being tan. I think everyone look better tan.Ah, I can relate to that kind of problem.  I think I'm getting crappy tunnel from boosting myself up off the couch with my hands!  I want hubby to install pull bars over my bed and the couch to pull myself up!  It's either that or a crane.

You have your own tanning bed?  Don't you know fatback fries?
It is neat having it at home Jay
Karen I just busted a gut, lololololol...why you think I wanted a TB...fatbook is good crispy!

Sniff sniff, anyone smell something cooking?  Mona's getting crispy again!
I want hubby to install pull bars over my bed.
That just sounds wrong in soooo many ways Why do you think I have bad hips????  I always dreamed of being in the circus.pfffft! I need a come-a-long and a wench to get outtta that tanning bed, it's deep and narrow, lol
ummm yeah I love to smell fatback....sheesh I love to eat , I'm starving I need chocolate cake!Oh shoot gotta go for a few minutes, dear son "has" to check his my space and facebook. BRBHi everyone,
I hope you are having a good night! Did anyone do anything fun today?
My son (15) is in 4H and they had the county show. He got champion heifer crossbreed and won a beautiful crystal bowl.
Signed
Proud Mom
Ladies I refuse to become my "Dear Departed Father" and fall asleep in my chair, so I will have to go to sleep soon. Lets do it again soon. Someone pick the time and day and spread the word.
To those that do not like or hogging the board we are sorry. It is a quiet time on here at least!

Come along wench!  Get your butt moving!

Nite Jay - good talking to ya!

Cindee, my kids were in 4H - I know what a big deal that is.  That's awesome!  Congrats!  You have every right to be proud!
CinDee that is awesome. I am sure he has his head in the clouds. I remember going to the Count Fairs with fond memories.

FRIED ELEPHANT EARS wow those were good! Sorry flashback.
This goes way too fast for dial up, but I wanted to say hi before everyone went to bed, it's only 8 pm hereHi Deidre,

I have SLOW problems here too some times and it seams like a whole page is written before I can catch up. And Mona well she has computer issues like I have never heard of.
Nighty Nighty, Jay, sleep tight.

Thanks Hillhoney!
He has only been around cows for a few months and my neighbor showed him the robes. My son was gracious enough to offer him the crystal bowl, it's your cow. But neighbor said "no, you earned it". He's been learning to farm from him. Neighbor has Lou Gehrig's disease and can't use his arms so my son has "been his arms". Mike was so proud too (neighbor)!

Hi Deidre!  Glad you spoke up!My kids did dairy goats - they were happy with goats that they didn't have to send their project to market!

Sounds like you have a very special son.
Hi Deidre!
It's 11pm here in IL but I came home from 4h and took a nap from 5 to 7 so I'll probably be up late.

Jay, I had a lemon shake up, LOVE THEM!
I'm home alone, DH and oldest DD went up to the boat for the salmon opening tomorrow and younger DD is at work until 10pm and she calls me for a ride, the beagle keeps coming by me to chew up the food she doesn't like to eat. Slow evening for me.

Well, I think I am fading fast - it's 12:30 here.  Time to rest my weary head.  Enjoy your evening - keep the chat going, maybe someone else will pop in!

Karen

Sweet dreams, Karen.
take care
That's the trouble with time zones, everybody else is at least a couple hours ahead of me, nitey nite Hill, are the lightening bugs out, we loved seeing them when we'd visit our grandma in Ohio.Deidre, what time is it where you are? Where are you? I'm in central IL and we have lots of lightening bugs. Kids used to catch them and put them in a jar.I'm in southcentral Alaska, it's 8:55pm, but it will be 9pm by the time this message posts on our stupid internet connection. We used to catch lightening bugs, but my grandma would always let them loose when we went to bed and in the morning tell us they were magic and escaped with the lid still on.Is it dark or light now? Doesn't Alaska stay dark for months then light? I heard that from that old tv show Northern Exposure.
The kids would let the bugs go too. I always told them they would die so they would keep them for a little while then let them go.It's still light out, I probably won't put the car lights on when I go get DD from work at 10pm. It'll get DARK, DARK around 1am and then start to get light again at 3am. But we're already on the down side of loosing daylight, probably a couple minutes a day. When we'd go back to Ohio to visit the relatives we couldn't believe how the sun went down after supper and it was pitch black by 8pm, our cousins didn't believe we could play outside till after midnight and it was still light enough to see. In the winter it gets dark by 5pm, but the constant daylight during the summer is really harder to deal with, we have really dark curtains in our bedrooms.I have dark curtains too. My room has to be pitch black except I leave a light on in the bathroom and the door is cracked just a little so if I have to go to bathroom in the middle of the night I can see where it is and make my way to it. I have a aunt that used to live in Traverse City MI and we would visit in July and it wouldn't get dark until about 10pm. I couldn't get over it! I guess cuz' it's so far north???? In the winter it gets dark here around 5pm too. Summer about 8pm. Is it always freezing cold there? I always wanted to visit Alaska. It's so beautiful and from what I hear the men really out number the women??? True? LOL shh don't tell my hubby I asked. We've had a cold summer so far, but it gets up to the 70's in the summer at least a couple of times. We have lots of flowers and bugs, the kids can go swimming in the local lakes or in the ocean if it gets really hot. Yes the men out number the women. We don't get the channel that has 'Men in Trees', it's always funny to see how Hollywood portrays Alaska, we liked 'Northern Exposure' it was quirky like most small towns here are.Perfect temp for me. It gets so hot and humid here in summer. Later this week it is supposed to get 92 be humid. yuck Humidity makes me hurt.We don't ever have problems with too much humidity, but on the other hand, it gets so dry here in the winter I have to keep a humidifier going most of the time.In the winter I put a bowl of water by the heat ducts and at least once a week I have to add more water. Plus our fishtank will get lower. I have lots of house plants which is supposed to be good to help filter the air with more oxygen. Good chatting with you and I actually learned somethings I didn't know about Alaska. I have to get to bed. It's 1 am and I have to get up early and go see my Uncle Bob in the hospital. He's 84 and isn't doing too well. He had surgery last week and had his bladder and prostrate removed because of cancer. He has a colostomy bag and now something is wrong with his heart. Poor guy.
take care
I refill a one gallon humidifier twice a day and if it gets too cold, like 5 below, then it frosts up the windows. We have to clear out everything on the window sills and keep the curtains open or the frost really builds up. Other than the mosquitos and biting gnats, I like summer alot better, course it goes by too fast. Well I gotta go, DD needs a ride and I won't need to turn on my headlights. Have a good night CinDee.Checking in a day late, but wanted to say Hi to the gang. Sorry I missed you guys last night, but I've been sooooooo sick with the flu. I came down with it on Friday night, and this afternoon was the first I've been out of bed...other than running to the BR to hurl!
Maybe next Sunday, same time, same place?OMG - Gale and Moana???  Where have you guys been?

Hugs,

Pip
Hi PIP!!

I've been 'away' for a few months. Lot's going on with my Mother's health and with my one 'rebellious' son, so needed the time away. But things are starting to slow down around here, so I'm baaaack!
Yeah!

I saw Shannon was here to somewhere but didn't get to say Hi!  I've been in 'summer vacation - I'm  booooooorrrrrreeeeeedddddd! mode with the baby!

Hugs again!

Pip
What up, kids? Katie's in the house!  Now we gotta rock!

Pip
I think everyone left... Hi, I'm here. Can't sleep cuz' I took a long nap today. How are  you Katie? How's the kitty and J?Our kitty Callie had 3 kittens about 2 weeks ago. Their eyes are open. One is so cute, black and white. It's face is white but has a black goatee.  Other 2 are yellow tabbies.  They are all outside cats cuz' we live in the country and Iam so allergic. I have to take benedryl to  go outside and see the kittens. We also have 2 kittens about 3 months old and they are so fun to watch playing with my chihuahua who thinks she's a cat. LOL
