Waterskiing, RA and Rituxan | Arthritis Information

Okay, I just have to share this.  I went waterskiing today for the first in in almost 8 years and it felt fabulous!  I certainly haven't improved any from my pre RA days, but a year ago...this would have been impossible for me.

Now my shoulder is sore, but that is to be expected and that is from damage that I've had for quite some time.  I just wanted to share with all of you and to give everyone who is on Rituxan or about to try it, a little hope :)  I never thought I would find a med that would work this well for me.  It's my wish that everyone else have this kind of success.

Sounds like fun and glad that your treatment is working well enough for you to get back on those skis.     I used to ski in my younger days and loved it - have gone a few times in the past 15 years, but always forget which ski to drop for slalom, so I do that standing on the ground and practicing to see which one it was before heading in the water.  It looks a little funny, but better than falling if I selected the wrong one. Yay!  Great to hear stories like this.  I just love your siggy.  It inspires me every time I read it.That's great, Lynn!Lynn,

My rituxin infusions have kicked in. Rituxin is my new super hero. I went down 10 mg of prednisone in a month. Doctor yesterday said to slow down. I used to think that enbrel was good and I guess it is but wow, rituxin is a whole nuther drug.

P.S. It took 4 painful (no enbrel) months for the rituxin to work but well worth the wait.

LEV
Congrats, Lynn!

And that explains Lev's harrassment over the last few months.

Lynn and Lev, isn't it GREAT to be in remission or on the fast track to get there?  I'm afraid I'm not waterskiing, surfing, or jogging but damn I can golf 9 holes, walk 3 miles and for me that's an accomplishment.  Congratulations to both of you.  Lindy
