But she did not catch on to what I said.
She is all bruised up still... she was complaining of that tonight, but she said she feels a little better.
I think her decreased lung function is causing her the most problems right now. She is having respitory therapy at home. She still has to have oxygen when she sleeps and some thru the day when she needs it.
She gets short of breath still, but she says it is not as bad when she sits up straighter. Which they are sending her a hospital bed for her. She said she wished it was there already because sitting on the couch and in the recliner is making her have trouble breathing because she cannot sit upright as good like the hospital bed can do for her.
But she looks good and all.
She was quite bummed about missing all of her church functions this week and some of the ones she missed while being in the hospital. I told her see had to get use to missing them until she was able to go more places and doing better. She just looked at me like I was a nut LOL! Then my sister said yep that is right... you will not get to go for at least a month. She just looked sad. My mom going to church is her life. I know she misses it, but she has to get better before she can go and do all that she was doing.
Joonie. It is good for your mom to laugh and cough. It is good for her lungs and will keep her from getting post op pneumonia. So keep making her laugh. Sounds like your mom is making a really great recovery! I'm so happy to hear it Joonie.Yeah, I know it is good for her to cough, but I just do not like that I know when she laughs it causes her pain.
When my brother from california was down, he was making her laugh, while she was still in the hospital, and I told him to stop making her laugh that it hurt her. He said she needed to laugh to help her cough which is what she needed. I knew that, but I did not want to see her in pain. She was already in a lot of pain from when her sturnum cracked where her wires were.
She is doing that breathing thing. Where you have to inhale and get that thing to float up. She said she can get it up to 1000. But she mostly stays at 750 for now. She does it 10times every 2 hours or something like that. When she first done it while in the hospital, she could only get it to 250. So she is improving.
Great news that she is doing well- glad to hear it!Joonie,
So glad to hear your mom is doing well. Let your mom laugh it wil be good for her. Even though it may hurt it will help her keep her lungs clear of fluid building up and causing pneumonia as Lorster said. Take care and enjoy your day.
