Dropped another mg of prednisone- down to 5 (YES!)

But now I'm in that adjustment period....shoulders ache, knees hurt, shooting pains in my shins, feeling blue....

The woman in the next office has been cracking her gum all day and it is driving me nuts!

To top it off I have just made two emergency trips to the bathroom due to "the squirts" The bathroom is located in the most peculiar place where there is absolutely no sound privacy! How embarrassing! I'm also afraid to go on my walk at lunch time for fear of needing a bathroom!
Hi WTBF, congratulations on the taper.  It's one of the most difficult challenges we face with our meds.  Take it easy today.  LindyThanks Lin for supporting my efforts and for the encouragement.
It hasn't been easy.
WTBF, it took me about 7 months to taper from 30 mgs. to 7.5 mg.  It seemed forever and with each 1mg. cut I'd flare but after a couple of days I'd be fine.  Just in time to taper another 1 mg. and it would start all over again.  It will be well worth it once you're off Pred.  I hope you never have to go back on it.  LindyYeah- it wasn't so bad in the beginning but when I got down to 10 and started the 1 mg only every 2-4 weeks I really started noticing how crappy things would get. Then I would be afraid I wasn't going to be able to get of it... But it's been like you said- you have to ride it out and when you start feeling better you drop again.  Are you still on 7.5 or were you just mentioning the length of time it took to do that taper? I sure hope I can get off completely and never use it again. (However it was a Godsend when I needed it)

The squirts?  LOL  Thanks for a good laugh.  I never heard it called that before but it's so appropriate.  Anyway, I'm glad you're tapering down successfully.  I'm sure it's really tough, but you're almost home free!

I'm in the home stretch woohoo!
