Finally Some Answers | Arthritis Information

 

My PCP ran my labs again today. She said she has been doing some research and speaking with colleagues. She says if my labs come back the same or lower she will diagnose Reactive Arthritis (she feels it may have come from a strep infection that was not treated), if my labs are higher she is going to say RA and refer me to another RD since I was not happy with the first one. At least I feel like I have some hope now which is more than I can say for yesterday.  That sounds like good news, and a good plan.  I hope everything works out! Glad for the good news that PCP is concerned and helpful.  Hope new referral will be better.  Hang in there.

Glad your pursuit worked- best of luck that it is reactive and not RA!It pays to be proactive.  Hope things work out.  LindyYeah!!  My rd sucks too and my pcp, whom I've had for about 20 years believes me but doesn't know what to do.  So I made an appt at UW Health this morning, 1st appt, and they said to come in today at 5!!  My rd just said your rf is high heres some meds see you in 6 months.

Sounds like today is a much better day than yesterday.  I'm glad that your PCP is listening!

Yep, sure does sound like a good plan! I hope you get some answers soon. Great news!  Keep us posted please.Reactive arthritis sounds entirely plausible and certainly preferable to RA. Hope so for sure. Wonderful News!

Edited to whisper to APers, another strep patient :)  justsaynoemore2008-07-17 19:05:11She is a good Dr. but the problem is that because of the environment that she works in
(University Student Health Center), she does not see a lot of cases like mine, she is usually treating acute infections in college students. I am glad she is doing research and talking to other Dr.s about it but she seems timid to make a diagnosis herself, that is the only real problem I have with her, but at least she thinks something is wrong with me unlike the RD.
