Seems 23% of us trust what we read here.  We need it a little lower, people!  This is just your starting point!

I don't see a problem - just because I trust what you may say about your experiences does not mean I am going to run out and do the same. I agree with that!  I guess I took it as 23% might not be doing anymore research, just taking everything from a forum as what would happen to them.
I always research.   Knowledge is power I say and you can never have too much.

I don't see a problem - just because I trust what you may say about your experiences does not mean I am going to run out and do the same.
The article also mentions that only 10% trust what their "offline" acquaintances tell them - this makes sense also.  You don't often get hyperlinks and references for further study in an "offline" conversation, though it's very easy to provide such info (and to instantly investigate it) in an online forum.
My experience with 'offline':

"I don't know, I think it started with an 'A'....."

I'm with you, mom..

I buy books.. I borrow books.. I read on the net... I get periodicals ...
I use and take in everything, what I read online, what other people tell me, research data, discussions with my doctors, it all goes in, I sort through it and hopefully make the right decision.  Don't think I rely on any one direction more than the other.  Lindy I just read in AARP today...

"12%  Percentage of US adults who have the skills to obtain and use health information to manage their health care proficiently."
Yesterday's offline experience - A friend was telling me that her dad, who has "psoriasis and RA" had been on mtx a long time, but wasn't doing well.  He was having a lot of trouble getting around.  She said he went to a new dr. and the dr. said he thought he could really help, he had a different med he could rx and he thought it would really help.

So her dad started the new med and he feels great!  She said when she talked him, he was so happy and able to get out and do more.  She said it had really "changed his life".

I said great! With psoriasis and RA, I thought surely I know what med she is talking about.  "Is he on Enbrel?"

She said she didn't think so.  "Humira?"  No, she'd have to ask.....

Okay, is it an injection?  Infusion?

No, she was certain of that.  He is still on pills, like the mtx was.
