OT... trying to decide if I should call the cops.. | Arthritis Information

There's a party house down the street, and they're at it again.  Drinking, loud shouting, singing/rapping (and really BAD, I might add!), and the occasional fireworks.  I'm goddamn sick of it.  To make matters worse, it's a section-8 "family" and they're a bunch of lazy SOB's.  But if someone calls the cops, it's usually like kicking a hornet's nest... they get even worse.  And I'm sick and tired of being called "cracker," "white bitch," etc.  I don't give a damn what color they are... they're a bunch of @ssholes.  Hopefully they'll do enough damage to the house that they get kicked out when their lease is up.  Unfortunately that won't be for several more months.  The landlord will probably put another group of lazy@ss deadbeats in there; he doesn't seem to learn.  The city came down hard on him a couple years back when the neighborhood started raising hell about the street pharmacy that was being run out of that house.  He cleaned it up for a while, but it seems he's gone back to his old ways.

I know several people who are on the section-8 (housing assistance) wait list who really NEED the assistance and can't get it... meanwhile these fools just keep partying on our dime. Call the cops!! But tell the cops that you don't want them to know someone called. Maybe they can drive by, and act like they just HAPPENED upon them........I dunno.

That crap sucks. Can you get your neighbors to all sign a letter to the land lord?
You could always join the party!
Call the cops!! But tell the cops that you don't want them to know someone called. Maybe they can drive by, and act like they just HAPPENED upon them........I dunno.

Oh, I never give them my name.  I have a special "throwaway" cell phone I use for such calls.
You could always join the party!
Naw... they're a bunch of idiot gangbanger morons.  Besides, I like Coke, not Crack. All is quiet now.  Guess they didn't think it was so funny the second time. Now tomorrow morning at 7 AM, crank up the lawn mower and leaf blower!
Now tomorrow morning at 7 AM, crank up the lawn mower and leaf blower!
LOL - sometimes I like to freak 'em out when they decide to have one of their little parties.  I pull out my lawn chair, put it right in the middle of my back yard (they're two houses down) and proceed to read a big book.  They don't know what to do. You got that lawnmower and leaf blower cranking yet? LOL!

Call the cops!! But tell the cops that you don't want them to know someone called. Call Jesse Jackson. He will take care of them N******S and cut their N***s off. Seiously, make the call or write an Anny. letter to community affairs or special operations in your PD. I did years ago about loitering ( drinking, drugs etc ). Worked great

You could have a tea party in your back yard and serve cucumber sandwiches and wear fancy hats, bet that would set them off too!

sh*t, just walk out there nekkid and start doing yoga.......

What is happening to our state Jas?  It's going to hell in a handbasket I swear.  Thankfully in the town im in I'm not *that* close to sec. 8 but I still get to hear fireworks go off at all hrs *which in turn makes the dogs in the house go absolutly crazy like the world is coming to an end or something* and Mariachi *sp?* music.  Now, I have no problem w/ the music but at 11pm at night during the week when I'm *trying* to sleep, thats where my problem starts.  Hmmm maybe on a weekend I should blast like classical music or some Country music while they are playing theirs and see how they like it LMAO..

But in all seriousness, you should right a letter to the city.  Theres gotta be something they can do or get a petition started?  Maybe that would help?I'm all for section-8 in theory, but it sure doesn't seem to be tracked very well.  I have 2 section-8 families right next door to me and they're great.  Married couples, young kids, husband in both cases is disabled and both wives work as nurses' aides.  They get pissed off at the deadbeat leeches too.

As for writing a letter to the city... we'll all be speaking to our alderman.  The city has to tread lightly in these cases or they get accused of discrimination.

Back when we had tenants in our upstairs apartment, we had to kick their lazy @sses out... and they were white.  I don't care what color these fools are - I don't want trash in the neighborhood.  And that has nothing to do with income level. Jas, I definitly agree.  While Section 8 is a good idea, it , like other government things, needs to be better regulated.  And it doesnt matter what color you are, how much money you make, you still should get repremanded if you dont take care of the house you live in or if you scam the system to be able to get those servicesYou make me feel better about my neighbors, they have a party about twice a month with mexian music, it has a boom to it, if they would turn it down, I don't think it would sound that bad.  When it is turned up, It can jar the windows at times.  We never call the police on them because I like to see people enjoy life.  But I have in the past on the drugies who use to lived next door.  It is every where black, white and brown and yellow people.  As far as color goes, when we moved here,  I had mexican as my three closest neighbors and I wondered what I had move into. (the only ones I had met was in the fields and they where something else)  well it turned out they were the best neighbor ever.  Than as they got old and died or moved off, white trash moved in, that was on drugs and part of gamgs.  Now mexican have moved back in two of the houses and things have gotten better.  About 10 pm.   I want it quite, It would be nice to alway have it quite.....LOL

Both of my neighbors are Hispanic...the ones on the right of us are the BEST neighbors I think I have ever had!!!  THey have a riding lawn mower and in the fall they will mow our lawn to pick up all the leaves that fall from the trees so in return we snow plow their driveway.  And whenever they have a party which in the summer it seems like its every weekend, they always make a plate of food for me *its to spicy for hubby* and say that when im done I can come over and make another plate!  They are the BEST!!

Good people come in all flavors!
Good people come in all flavors!
LOL - I always say @ssholes come in all colors

My neighbors are cows -- they don't party much, but those coyotes keep late hours!

Yeah they do, and they steal my cats too!
Yeah they do, and they steal my cats too!
Cats - one of a coyotes favorite late night snack.  I guess no matter where one lives there's always a nuisance to contend with.
Very true, but the police won't come for the coyotes!

We used to have goats, and the coyotes would come and circle the goat pen, screaming and whooping.  We called the DEP to find out what we could do and they said to turn on every light, and go outside and bang pots and a pans, and making as much noise as possible.  So now I guess our neighbors think we're the nuisance!
We've had coyotes now and again, even in the city.  The first time I saw one trotting down my street I thought some butthead let his dog out loose... but then I realized it was not a domestic dog!!!

Quote from HH:  " . . . but the police won't come for the coyotes."

No they won't, but you can call my neighbors -- they'll come over w/their shotguns, peaceful coexistence ends when the ciyotes go after their livestock.

My human neighbors can be noisy on occassion, my neighbor's grandsons' like to ride their dirt bikes in the field.  Thank gawd they don't do it that often.

Hard drugs are big problem in parts of L.A.   Noise can be a problem anywhere it seems.

Good luck.

I live in an apartment complex and out of desperation have called the police several times at least for noisy and otherwise inconsiderate folks. You wouldn't believe all the crap that goes on. And I use the word both figuratively and literally. Some jerk put a paper plate on the stairwell with dung on it. More of the same was in one of the laundry machines among their childrens' clothes.

Speaking of noise. One Sunday morning I woke up and couldn't figure where the racket was coming from. Then I looked across the street and there was a Hindu wedding ceremony going on at Indian restaurant. The police had to tell them to take their celebration indoors.
