Enbrel and Pregnancy | Arthritis Information

Hello, Im a 24 year old woman who was diagnosed with RA and fibromyalgia when i was 20. Ive been on several different drugs over the years and am currently on Enbrel. I just found out that Im 10 weeks pregnant. (i had no idea, since i was still getting my periods.) Anyway, since i didnt know, ive been taking my enbrel, zanaflex, phenerghan, flexeril, and zolfran. Ive made an appointment with a high-risk OB to discuss my options. But I was wondering if anyone has taken enbrel while pregnant, especially during the first trimester, and if they had any advice or information to share? Hi
You have to do what your doctor says but I can tell you that Enbrel and pregnancy has never been studied.   Fortunately, pregnancy usually puts RA into remission or close to it.  You could just stop the enbrel and see what happens.  There are reported cases of mom's taking enbrel through their pregnancy and doing just fine, against the advice of their OB docs.  Google Enbrel pregnancy to learn more.  Congrats on the pregnancy!  For the pregnant women out there...maybe somebody knows more on  this subjectI am pregnant but have never taken enbrel.  I have also have not had pregnancy remission either.  I decided not to take anything after I found out I was pregnant at about 6 weeks.  Good luck to you on finding the answers you need!
