I felt alittle beter today so me and my hubbyy went Geocaching. We found 6 out 8! Cool. But now I am swollen like a ballon and in pain! Dumb huh? I just don't want to give up my life for this crap. I love hiking and camping and spending time with my dogs. I love life! I want to be there. Sorry I'm whinning. Not stupid...you gotta have fun. I love geocaching. I took my middle schoolers on a field trip once and taught them how to use the GPS units. Then...off they went. We were in a state park with a ton a park rangers so they really got to wander a very large area. Cool trip. Not whinning. Sorry it hurt you so. What is it? Do you use one of those metal detectors? Not sure what it is, please fill me in.

thanks
Geocahing is using multimillion$ satalittes to find such like tupperware in the woods. Or amo boxes. Much hicking and need a GPS. Fun! You find and trade stuff.
What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache’s existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS unit can then try to locate the geocache.

I totally understand how you feel, as I am sure alot of others here do as well. For me, I miss running for miles and miles - I WILL do it again someday. I also miss gardening and hiking.

We have to keep hoping and praying that we each find the right combo of treatments that puts us into medical remission!
LP- RA sucks! Sorry it messed up your day! I hate when it prevents me from doing something I love. Good news is on another day you can do the same thing and be fine....Lostpoet,
I am one of the newer ones to RA and believe me already I hate it, with a passion. I have to give up  things I would love to do sometimes.  I hate it.  Shouldn't be that way I think. Don't think your whining or that it is your fault.  We should still be able to get out and do the things we enjoy. After hearing what Geocaching is it's sounds like fun. I think I would like to try it one day. Kind a modern version of the scavenger hunt we used to have every year at camp.

I think we can all say we miss doing the things we used to do. Like you, I'm an outdoors girl. Love to walk in the woods and just stop and listen to the birds or hike way back in the woods where a creek is, stop and go fishing. Go to the beach and walk for miles on the soft white sand of the Gulf of Mexico. Hurt too bad to do any of that stuff anymore and can't be in the sun because of MTX. I know things could be a WHOLE lot worse for me, but on days that I feel really bad sometimes I just sit and cry because I can't do those things. I think what upsets me the most is that I don't have any control over what is happening to my body. I'll try this or that to "help" me but nothing seems to help. I hope you feel better soon :)LP, you're not whining and what you did wasn't stupid.  It was a human reaction.  You felt a bit better so you just had to try and live your life the way you used to.  It's possible you could have gotten away with it so I'm not surprised you tried.  You shouldn't be expected to give up without a fight.  Think of it this way, your refusal to give in easily and your determination to try to live the way you want can be a good thing if you use that same fight and determination in your battle against RA.  It works both ways.  Now get out there and kick some RA ass!
