Er, Uh, Excuse me, but isn't this a support group? Calling names and labeling people ((including presidential candidates) liars doesn't seem very supportive. I can understand a good discussion, but this throwing garbage around and considering it factual and using bully tactics is not "discussion".
Why not go out and work for the candidate of your choice instead of trying to ruin the reputation of the opponent. Have you made the phone calls, rang doorbells, stuffed envelopes, stood on corners with literature in all kinds of weather? Try it, you will get a great deal of satisfaction from actually working for your candidate.

Babs, this is where old Lev and I actually agree. You are in many political discussions. I can't believe you posted that.

Lev, to be honest with you, I have tried to listen to this you tube a few times and it is so lagged on my computer, I cannot make heads or tails of it but I do recall listening to that speech a while back. I do not think that Obama is trying to run from a debate with mccain. i think what has happened is the campaign has him spread so thin, every day is full and already scheduled right up until election day. and i'll bet mccains schedule is as full. this is probably more the truth than him not wanting to debate him. obama is an extremely intelligent, well spoken, thoughful man and i hardly think he is lacking in debate skills as he has shown. he will debate in the above listed places and we can all watch it then. Dodie,
Sorry "we all" made you so sad. You must almost die when a cancer takes another life or a suicide bomber kills another hundred people. I'm sure if you follow the path that you have quoted in your signature line you will be just fine. Hopefully we have not driven you to anti-depressants.
Babs,
I noticed that at the bottom of your last post explaining how you don't consider your postings that I posted as political postings, it says "edited to be nice". Babs, let me assure you that I will have more respect for you if you are cruelly honest rather than nicely deceitful. None the less, babylon, get it? babble On? Babs, babble on?
Ann1026,
Er, huh
LEV
Lorster,
Trust me when I tell you that he did challenge McCain and George Dubya to debate anytime, anywhere and yes, as hard as it is for you to accept, your candidate is running scared. And yes, Senator McCain called his bluff and asked for a june debate and of course, Senator Obama changed his mind. If he had debated Senator McCain last month, McCain would be far ahead in the polls, you man would have looked uneloquenly ignorant. It was easy to debate Hillary. She has less experience and knowledge than even Senator Obama. Senator Clinton spent all of her time trying to be nice in hopes that Barack would be nice. Not so Senator McCain. Senator Obama may be as you say, inteligent but inteligence and knowledge are two totally different things. Intelegence with-out knowledge will not make many things work. Senator Obama may have knowledge of how community organizing works. Senator McCain knows how politics work. Senator McCain knows how government(s) work. Senator McCain has years of good experience needed to get things done. Senator Obama likes to make sure that the voting puplic knows just how many years Senator McCain has. Senator Obama likes playing the age card and the race card when it suits him. Senator Obama has ego. He will not even admit the surge worked in Iraq or that if the troops had been pulled out when he wanted, all deaths would be in vain and total turmoil in the middleeast. His ego is larger than both his knowledge and inteligence, that in itself would be a ton of troubles for this great United States.

I agree. This is childishSorry, I thought I had a quote in there. I come here for medical info not politics.Now.. I may lose sleep over not being respected by you, Lev. Not.
lorster.. I will admit that I posted on some threads easily considered as political threads...
And, I seriously do post at a forum just for politics when I have an opportunity.. when I'm not here or at my own web forum for step families or working.. or any of the other number of things I enjoy.
The point had been made that perhaps this isnt' the best place for political posting... In light of the fact that the board IS called Rheumatoid Arthritis. And, in retrospect, I am in agreement.. and apologize for being caught up in the "hype" of political discussions here.
Babs,
Why get mad at me? You are the one that posts to political threads and then complained about others posting political. All I did was brought it to the forum members and your attention that you do what you were complaining about others doing. Why slam me when you should have been embarressed and apologized. Why shoot the messenger or the bringer of truth. And most deceitful people don't lose sleep over being deceitful. Generally it is passed from generation to generation and is just a normal part of their lives.
As far as being so finnicky that all that should be discussed is rheumatoid arthritis on this forum because that is the name of the forum is ridiculus. Take away everything but ra posts and we would have fewer members than the lame forums that come here spamming and using the pm system trying to build their forum membership so that they can control what is said on "their" moderated forum. Anyway, there are forums out there that are moderated and do not allow political or other off topics not approved by the admin or moderators, and maybe you would feel more omfortable there. Good luck to you. Hopefully if you decide to stay here you will find the willpower to skip the threads that upset you.
LEV
MJ it's hard to believe you came here only to read medical information and you made it to the third page before you realized this thread didn't have a bit of that involved.
The first paragraph should have been a dead give away. Stop reading! Turn back! I don't want to see this! But nooooooooooo....like a train wreck you have to keep looking. No one wants to see it.....but they break their necks to look. Why is that?
I'm often baffled at the comments made by some.
you are most entertaining, Lev..
and disillusioned....
I am not mad at you, Lev.. I said I didn't care if you respect me!! Don't twist my words.. though I admitted to posting on political threads.. you have no idea of my political leanings.. in that I didn't post that at all.... I only alluded to being somewhat "conservative" .. A pretty general expanse.
This forum.. the entire thing is empty except for this RA forum.. I didn't say that we shouldn't post anything else in RA.. but that the abundance of political drama would be better served in another arena......
I feel perfectly comfortable here.. and I have more than enough will power to avoid all and any I chose....
You're very quick to chastise, name-call and ridicule ..... as well as adjust my words to fit your needs...
I guess you've had your play with the liberals and now look to bother someone else.. rest assured.. I'm not bothered... and never have worry when it comes to a battle of wits.. I am always armed
Have a good day
(ETA: Lev's name)
babs102008-07-29 10:51:35Babs,
I'm just messing with you. I enjoy many of your posts but just couldn't pass up taking such an easy and much deserved jab. You know you deserved being dragged around a bit after that post, right?
LEV
jab awayI came back today because this is the first I saw this thread had 3 pages! I have not read anything but the first thread.
Why are you such a nasty person?
And now the chosen one has said. Keep your tires inflated and we can get off foeeign oil dependence. Obama, Keeping your tires inflated helps a with gas mileage and keeping your car tuned also, but completly getting off Billions of Barrells of oil.?The comedians will have a field day with this. This one term Senator is really showing that he knows nothing without reading the tele-promter. From Wikipedia:
George Walker Bush (/ˈdʒɔɹdʒ ˈwɑkɚ ˈbʊʃ/ (help·info); born July 6, 1946) is the forty-third and current President of the United States of America. He served as the forty-sixth Governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000 and is the eldest son of former U.S. President George Herbert Walker Bush and Barbara Bush. He was inaugurated as President on January 20, 2001 and his current term is scheduled to end on January 20, 2009.[4]
After graduating from college, Bush worked in his family's oil businesses. He made an unsuccessful run for the United States House of Representatives in 1978. He co-owned the Texas Rangers baseball team before defeating Ann Richards to become Governor of Texas in 1994. In a close and controversial election, Bush was elected to the Presidency in 2000 as the Republican candidate, receiving a majority of the electoral vote but losing the popular vote (by 543,816), one of only four times in United States history this has occurred.
Barack Hussein Obama II[2] (pronounced /bəˈrɑːk hʊˈseɪn oʊˈbɑːmə/; born August 4, 1961) is the junior United States Senator from Illinois. He is the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party in the 2008 presidential election, and the first African American to be a major party's presumptive nominee for President of the United States.
A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. He also taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. Following an unsuccessful bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000, he announced his campaign for the U.S. Senate in January 2003. After winning a landslide primary victory in March 2004, Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He was elected to the Senate in November 2004 with 70% of the vote.
As gov of Texas, how much foreign policy did Bush have? Maybe running the Texas ball team gave him some. I would like to know just how much foreign policy experience he had that qualified him to be president. This seems to be what everyone is concerned about with Obama. I am very stumped about this.My guess , One running a Big Business with Millions of Dollars at stake. Two Running a State. Three , He had Dad to learn from. Obama ? voting sometimes on laws etc. What Does this have too do with BHO knowledges of cars and foriegn oil? Or is this a seperate issue?
If you've been keeping up with the trash on the liberal thread, you will read that they are trashing the republicans for corrupt lawmakers. Even before a trial they want the heads of those repubs accused but when it comes to their own, it's "innocent until proven guilty" and even try to get the inciminating evidence thrown out. Can anyone say justsaynomorejefferson? Again, I think that one of the most honorable differences between the republicans and the democrats is that the republicans say throw them in jail whether they are dem, repub indie or whatever and the dems say, off with the repubs head and defend till the end the democrat criminals by all means. It's not surprising that on the liberal thread they post opinions and blogs as truth and only talk of corruption in the republican ranks and never mention democrat corruption. Jefferson's congessional office was raided with a search warrant and incriminating evidence was seized. The dems wanted the evidence thrown out because they say that the congressional office should be safe from search warrants. Judged ruled against them. Well, maybe we all need one of those safe from warrants offices. Listen to Ms. Pelosi talk about Jefferson and then think about what she would be saying if it were a repiublican:
Oh MJ,
Who are you to call anyone nasty. When you first posted your first of three posts to this thread, you had posted seven posts so that 40% of your posts were on this thread that you don't like. On page three you posted twice to this thread even tho on page four you posted that you "I came back today because this is the first I saw this thread had 3 pages! I have not read anything but the first thread." What? On July 28 you posted twice on the third page. On July 29 you post that you just saw that the thread had three pages? Maybe your problems are more than physical. It seems if there is a post you don't like you would stay away from it. If there were a food you didn't like would you keep eating it just so you could keep saying you don't like it? I think you have more than physical problems.

6t5, you need to reduce your dose of oxy this morning and go back to page one and read the title of the thread. The thread is not about oil and cars, it is about Obama. I don't think Obama has all the answers, but he does have a huge following of people that are sick to death of what this current corrupt administration has done to our great country. It may not be better at first, but at this point, it could not get any worse. This is the worst shape I have seen our country in in my lifetime and it has to get better. I hate to see us all living in times like the great depression. Something has to change. Do we give the republicans four more years to continue the Bush legacy. I don't think most americans want four more years of that. Many cannot afford that. If Obama is elected, I would expect each and every person who did not vote for him to stand up and support him, stand behind him and help get our country back. After all, this is what all of you expected of us when Bush was elected. And we did back in 2000. Then he got stoopid and that is when I lost faith in him. Whats Oxy? Yes this is about Obama . Thats why I posted about his speaking yesterday on inflating tires and solving our Oil crisis. ( did you really read what I posted? am I going to fast ? ) I will stand behind Obama as much as Lib. Dems stood behind President Bush. If Americans are so unhappy and you Libs consider McCain and Bush the same, why are they so close in the polls? Get out of the Liberal threads once and awhile and you will see people with different opinions then yours and are not drinking Olberman Kool Aid and actually like America and do not feel this country is as bad as you do. As far as affording things and blaming Bush ( of course not the DEM Congress ) wait till BHO gets in . The middle class will get killed in Taxes. Obama does have some big rally's. Did you see Berlin? I guess he thinks he is President already. Total Arrogance. Did you also know that his aides were putting out flyers before his speech saying that NO Banners or signs would be allowed so there would be NO negativity seen on TV. Lorster, Take a break from your Nursing job. You are stressed to the Max
