WHAT A LOSER | Arthritis Information

Hello everyone,

As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to "The War Zone". I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

In service,

You are sooo easy to discredit!

AND i wonder how Donn's rheumatoid is doing???? You should pay close attention to the part on snopes with the qoute from the guy who wrote it, now asking people to please remove it from any blogs/websites they have it posted on.  Politics are fine, just be sure it's the truth before you spread it.AND "SNOPES" HAS ALL THE FACTS?

MUST BE TEDDY KENNEDY DOING THE WRITING!  LOL
GIMME A HUG LINDA AND I'M SURE I'LL FEEL BETTERRemember, whenever anyone says they are not a political person it means they are going to post lies. That way they don't have to have the facts just their opinion.

The e-mails that are being spread about this candidate are truly embarrassing, embarrassing that anyone believes them and passes them on. I would think the American people would be smart enough to see bull****. Hopefully at some point they will understand that lying backfires.

Its like every time a relative says "honestly" you know a big fib is coming. This serviceman has asked people not to forward it on, perhaps you should be patriotic and do as he requests.I am not saying that I agree with any of this because I do not agree with discussing politics on an ra forum but where in there does it say not to forward it on?????

If your were quoting from the web address he posted I am not going to read it, so I appologize if it was there.

Reegie, the quote was from snopes.com which is a non-political website which looks at urban legends, internet emails, and other items passed around to folks on the internet or posted on blogs, and they try to prove or disprove the validity of the information.  It is a very useful website - totally non-political, most of the information on there has nothing to do with politics.  It is a very useful tool to use in wading through all the stuff we get emailed to us as fact.

I'm not sure why you didn't want to look at the website, but have no fear, it is not a left or right wing political sight, LOL!  Thanks, I don't come here to discuss Presidential candidates is all.  I have heard of the website and I don't get to read here all that often and when I do I like to read about ra.  If I want to read about politics I would go elsewhere to do it.  I had just read what Lev posted and didn't see the quote, posted too soon, went back and read it again and saw that is probably where it was.

HILLHONEY, WHAT FACTS DO YOU HAVE THAT PROVES THE VALIDIY OF "SNOPES"? YOU SAID THEY TRY TO PROVE OR DISCREDIT.

Reegie. I think you posted before that you do not agree with politics being discussed on an RA forum. This is a place where many come and not only talk about their disease but also about their life, what they enjoy doing, where they have gone, how children are doing, new babies and grandbabies, new pets and the death of beloved pets, recipes, advice on life in general, photos, poetry, music, funny internet clips....you name it, it all gets posted here. i never see that anyone complains about these subjects. but when politics come along, these posts come out like crazy. why is that? politics are as important to many on here as the other subjects are. RA is a disease we all share. It is one thing we all have in common but it is not all there is to us. Yes, we have words and sometimes the threads get ugly, but that soon ends and we go on with all the other discussions. Many on here keep in personal touch, call each other on the phone and really do keep track with one another and support them.   If someone does not post in a while, there is someone on here that thinks of that person, a call goes out and pretty soon, that person pops in and says hi. It is not just about RA, it is about everything else that goes on in our lives that makes us who we are. To limit these discussions to RA topics seems to make the disease somehow less tolerable. So I say, post on anything and everything you want. You have RA and this is your life.

And DONN, you need to get a life and stop spreading crap like this around. It is so counter productive.

Whoa, that was not my point!!  I made the mistake of posting on this thread, that was my fault.  I totally agree about posting on many different subjects and I have.  I just think that you have feel the need to attack people on your political opionions then maybe it is wise to just not post on it at all especially when they are nasty, not your posts.  Your right that people have a right to post whatever they want and I just won't read or respond to those posts.
DONN, snopes posts where their information is obtained, gives names, dates, etc.  If they are unable to determine the truth of a story, they say so, and explain what attempts they have made to investigate it.  They deal in facts.  They don't have an agenda.

You apparently have an agenda - to smear a candidate that you don't like with anything you can find, and do not care about facts.  I have no problem with you disliking a candidate based upon his positions on the issues, or even based upon his political affiliation.  But when you continually post misinformation and vile jokes just to smear someone, it only reflects on your credibility, not the candidate.

DONN only comes on here to smear Obama. I wonder how much of this is going on across the internet. A need to get the word out to as many people in as many places as possible.

DONN, if you are a McCain supporter, that is great. Please post some info on him and let us know what he has to offer us as a president. i would love to know.

LORSTER, "GOOGLE" MCCAIN AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT HE HAS TO OFFER. THE NEWS MEDIA WILL NOT TELEVISE OR PRINT ANY OF IT.I CAN'T WAIT FOR A DEBATE BETWEEN OBAMA AND MCCAIN. YOUR FAVORITE MUSLIM BOY SEEMS TO BE KINDA SHY WHEN IT COMES TO DEBATES.

Its the nastiness of the Repubs that is so obnoxious, do you realize that that could turn people off from McCain?

He is not a muslim nor a boy.[QUOTE=DONN]
