Interesting article.  Stress does alot!

Jan
Interesting,

""We have shown what stress does, the basis of the stress," said study author Dr. Peter Elias, a professor of dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco, and the VA Medical Center, San Francisco. Interestingly, it has nothing to do with the classic explanation of the immune system breaking down, he added."

Article is about skin and stress not the whole body.

Anna/Birdgrrl -

The skin is the largest organ in the body.  It is one of there ways the body is protected from microrganisms - 1) skin 2) lungs/sinuses or 3) uro-gynocological.

If stress can physically change the skin - what can it do to the rest of the body?

Pip!2008-07-30 20:37:10its just strange how you attack other studies and then post links like this that don't match the title of the post. Esp since they tested 10 mice to come to this conclusion.

At the time this was originally posted - a month ago - we were talking about stress and if it does or doesn't effect the onset of these diseases.  From the microbial angle - this is darn interesting that somebody is looking at the possiblity.  They have to start with mice.  Then they move up the food chain.
