Missed Dose of Medication... | Arthritis Information

Has anyone accidentally missed a dose of their meds? Any problems?

For the first time I left my medicine at home (I'm at work) and cant take it until 6pm tonight. I usually take Predisone 2mg at 8am and 2mg at 3pm along with Celebrex... I heard when stopping Predinsone you are supposed to taper it for some reason which makes me worry if i miss a dose. I've left a message with my dr. office and still havent heard back. Should I be worried?

Sorry if it sounds silly, I've just never missed a dose before.

Nope, do not know. Hope the Dr office calls you back soon. I'm afraid I haven't got an answer for you but I am glad you posted because I just realised I have not taken mine.

I'm about 3 hrs late but I'm sure instructions said take as soon as possible if you miss a dose (but obviously don't take double doses!)

I'm on sulphasalzine might be different for other meds.

You might find yourself uncomfortable for a spell, but it's not likely to be bad. Do whatever reminder you need to stay on track with your meds. There's enough misery with being sick that you don't want to make it increase. Perhaps keeping an extra dose in your purse or briefcase in case you should forget the morning dose. I have to take my morning medicine after eating so I have my pill handy at breakfast. at this point take your next dose at its scheduled time. 1 missed dose isn't going to cause a problem other than you might be a bit more uncomfortable tonight

Heres what I do because I am very forgetful and I am supposed to take my medicines after I eat breakfast. This means at work and I kept forgetting to bring them to work.

#1 I have a pill fob on my key chain with a one day supply.

#2 I now carry my daily pill box with me . From Monday to Friday it's in my purse on the weekends it's on the counter at home.

I have even had to program a computer reminder to myself so every day at 9 am it says take your pills.

Whenever I don't like to do something- my selective memory shuts off. I hate taking pills.

I have the Sun to Sat med box... I take everything in the evenings, so it's on my counter.

When I was taking things other than vitamins in the a.m., I carried them with... and had a note on my laptop screen reminding me.
