Swelling & weight | Arthritis Information

I gained about 10lbs since I came down with the rapid pulse & high blood pressure and being put on blood pressure meds. I went from 167 to 176 in less than a month. Most of it was water retension from starting the BP meds.

Well... yesterday I noticed the pants I was wearing, were really loose and I kept having to pull them up. Plus, they were not as tight on my thighs and butt like they have been.

So... I just weighted myself today, and I am at 170.

To me that sounds like I had 6lbs of swelling on me! I mean to me it makes sense. Because I know I had a lot of swelling in my butt, hip, lower back area, because now I can feel bone and my thighs look skinnier and all that jazz.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed some thing similar.
Yes- I have noticed having that much water retention can cause a fluctuation that size.

joonie!!  good for you.  I hope the fluid loss came w/ your feeling good.

Weird.. this week, with much lower humidity in PA, I've lost 5 lbs.. (it is also week 5 of enbrel consecutively??) and I have much less swelling.

inflammation can cause that great a fluctuation in weight?  Wow.  I really am surpised.
oh I thought the swelling was caused by water retensionLOL
I think so too, wanto..

I just didn't think that it held that much "weight"
