Greetings from Russia | Arthritis Information

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum but unfortunately not new to arthritis.  I was diagnosed in 1987 at age 16 with AS and PA.  But I'm happy to say that currently I'm feeling pretty good.  I'm taking Enbrel and Aleve and that's all!!!  And to top that I'm chasing after my 2 year old (who is experiencing a severe dose of the 'terrible two's'!!!) and breastfeeding my 4 month old.  That was my main reason for joining up - I wanted to share my pregnancy experiences with others since I could find very little info online when I was contemplating pregnancy and how best to approach it regarding mes etc.  I am delighted to say that I have 2 beautiful girls both of whom I nursed while taking Enbrel and I continued on Enbrel whilst pregnant.

I lived in the US for 14 years but I now live in Russia.   I attend a rheumy in Ireland - my home country.  So I have international arthritis!!!!!

Please ask any questions - I'll be glad to answer any and all.  Bear in mind though, with 2 small crazy people in my house it sometimes takes me days just to brush my teeth let alone answer e-mails!!

Hope your days is full of positive energy.

Joanne
Hello from Canada
I am 61 and have RA since 1987 have been on Gold Shots, Methotrexate,  Placquenill, and am now on Embrel since September, which is working very well for me, also had knee replacement surgery this past January. How long have you been on Embrel

I wish you all the best with your girls, I have two grandchildren, a boy of 3 1/2 and a girl of 4 months, they brighten my days.

I am from England, been in Canada since 1974.

Have a great dayHi and welcome to JoJo and Maryrose.  I'm glad that you both found the forum.  If you go to the arthritis topic and post you'll get a better response.  JoJo I know that there will be questions for you.  There are several people on the forum that are interested in becoming pregnant.

Maryrose, I'm very happy to see someone my age on the forum.  There are only a few of us and I think that we have a lot of experience to offer.  We also have some issues that are inherent to our age.

Come on over to the main arthritis thread.  Lindy
Hi Maryrose,

Thanks for your response.  I have been on Enbrel since 1999 - I was taking it when you had to be on a waiting list to get it.  Back in the day.  I've had wonderful luck with Enbrel and really have enjoyed pretty good health since starting on it.  I certainly wouldn't be able to take care of my girls if it wasn't for Enbrel.  I don't experience any side effects either which is great.

Good luck to you and enjoy your grandchildren (my Mum has 12 with #13 on the way!).

Best,

Joanne
