   Hi guys...

Thanks for all your support and kind words last time I posted.

Dad's been in hospital for just over a week now.

Long story short.... Sick as a dog and not responding to ANY treatment.

He is sedated and drugged to his eyeballs for the pain. So I guess it's a good thing- he can't feel it.

He has an infection in his body called a pseudomonas aeruginosa. Google it if you want details...

I'm scared. Very very scared.

Ally.

Oh Ally I am so very sorry that your Dad is in such a bad way. And reading about the infection he has I can understand your being scared, it sounds dreadful. I can only offer my prayers here as I have never heard of this bacteria and after reading some sites and knowing it is attracted to the immune suppressed  scares me too.
Hang in there sweetie, try to be positive, keep good thoughts and just be there for Dad.  Easy for me to say I know but people DO survive this, so hang onto that thought.

If you want to talk, you can PM me anytime Ally. Im no expert on RA and most definitely not on the problem he has, but I can offer support in bucket loads!

I hold you and your Dad in my thoughts and prayers, and send  love to you.

oh Ally, no wonder you are so scared. I'm sorry your dad is doing so poorly, I will pray for him and his health team, and you too! Make sure you are taking care of yourself. Even though dad is so drugged, I'm sure he's glad to have you there with him. Don't neglect your own needs during this difficult time or you won't be any help to him. Big hugs to you sweetie, hang in there and keep us posted

Continued prayers will be going up. Hang in there!Bad bad news... THey're searching for an  absess in his brain. And doing biopsy of his bone marrow. Neither of these are good things.
His red and white blood cells are disappearing at a very high rate everything deteriorated in the space of hours. Which all points to something being seirously wrong... Not just the infection.
It's a wating game today. For test results.
I'm at work. I should be at home, I can't concerntrate anyway.
It feels like someone has ripped my heart out through my ribcage.
:o(
(((((((((RA))))))) Cyber hugs, sure wish there were something we could say or do but you know that we're here when you need us.  Lindy*hugs*

I am saying more prayers.  Hang in there.
I'm praying for your Dad.... Thank you.

How dreadful!  I am so sorry about your dad, Ally.  I do hope he makes a turn for the better and starts to improve.  I can't imagine how you must be feeling.  I'm such a daddy's girl...even at 47, and my dad 74.  I will pray for him, and for you and your mom, too.  [QUOTE=RA HATER]Bad bad news... THey're searching for an  absess in his brain. And doing biopsy of his bone marrow. Neither of these are good things.
