OK this just SUCKS! | Arthritis Information

So, today I get a call from the MRI center to remind me of my appt for my back scan.

Then the lady asks me if I have insurance. I was like yeah, BC/BS & Medicaid. She said that was included in the information my neurologist sent over to them, but when she tried to run a billing thru both of of insurances, it said I did not have either of them.

My husbands employer provided health insurance, BC/BS, said the group # was invalid! She said she tried to run it thru 3 times, and a few days apart and it kept telling her the same thing. So, she called me to see if the information that was sent to them was correct which it all was.

Then she told me the Medicaid said about the same thing. I told her that was because I got cut off for July, and it was restated the 1st of August. She said she will try to run it thru Medicaid to make sure at least one of my insurances is active. So... I guess the medicaid is ineffect again, because she has not called back. Which I got a letter in the mail today telling me it was restated today.

My husbands employer, has let their health insurance premium lapse before and no one with the company had medical insurance for a month. No one knew it except a few people.

I am guessing they done it again. Because all the information she had was right.

Yep, so I am going without hubby's medical insurance this month probably. Because if they did not pay it by the beginning of this month it will not be ineffect again until the next month.

Darn cheap ass koreans!

joonie2008-08-01 12:35:01report the husbands employers to the state insurance commissioner. Its not cheap..its bloody illegal to take the money out of the paycheck and not provide the insurance. Plus employers are required to inform employees in writing any changes in their insurance.

Well, I am not entirely sure that is what has happened this time or not. It just sounds like it. But if when I go Monday and they run BC/BS and it still says I do not have coverage, I will get in contact with whom ever it is that I need to talk to about it.

The first time they done it, no one knew about it until after about 2 months. When they held a meeting and told of the "raise" of cost for the medical insurance. WE got a crappier coverage plan and had to pay more, because they let it lapse.

Now that I know where to report it, if indeed they did let it lapse again, I will report them.

Thanks for letting me know where to report it to, Buckeye. I told in-laws about it today, and they did not know what could be done or if there was anything that could be done.

Please check this out. Also, if you have money taken out of your paycheck for insurance and your husband's company does not pay the premium, if someone has any medical issues the employer may be responsible or paying it themselves. They are playing with fire.

Joonie I hope your insurance issue on husbands side get fixed. By all means if they didn't pay the premium do report to state insurance commission. Good luck with all.

Too bad us working folks cannot get universal health care coverage. Too liberal. Let them eat cake. Joonie, so sorry. I cannot believe its come down to this madness. CathyMake sure you take the letter in with you saying you were reinstated today.

And by gosh I would have called hubby's work and asked for someone in the HR dept to check on it. I hope one of the insurace's will cover it for you.

We had gotten a EOB in the mail today, from when daughter went to the ped's when she was sick last month. SO, hubby opened it and it said our coverage had been discontinued. So... looks like that is what they did.

Of course, they take out money from hubby's paycheck for the family medical... a 8 every 2 weeks worth of hubbies check right there.

Hubby was PISSED when he got home and seen that they did not pay the premiums again. He said this is the 3rd time he knows of them doing this now.

He said he was going to talk to who is in charge Monday and raise hell. Then report them.

So... no need for me to do anything about it, hubby will take care of it. He is meaner than I am.

FIL said hubby needed to find a job with another company, but with gas prices like they are he will not be bringing home as much and right now we are struggling to make ends meet. The in-laws have been helping us out. And we have been letting "luxuries" (cable, cellphone) get turned off until we can afford them again.
