OT - Anthrax Vaccine | Arthritis Information
Have you been reading about the scientist who committed suicide because he was about to be arrested for sending anthrax through the mail? Something about the recent articles rang a bell with me so I went and searched my files, and amazingly, actually found what I was looking for.
This is a link to a post I made a while ago about lobbying dooming us from getting a better anthrax vaccine. Some of the people on AI had military family that got the 'worse' vaccine.

The most troubling piece of this story is that someone who was supposed to be working on a cure for something did this! He allegedly wanted to create more demand for a product he would be able to patent. How scary is that?????? Makes some crazy conspiracy theory I heard about something 'escaping' a lab sound just a tiny bit more plausible. Yikes!!!!!
This is so 'wrong' on so many levels that I just can't fathom it.

Hubby made a good analogy, I think. He says it is like firemen who set fires so they can be heroes and put them out. Makes sense, except the vaccine development has a financial incentive, too.
