I have two cats.  Like most cats, they lay around almost all the time.  I always walk around barefoot in the house, and if one of the cats is lounging on the floor in my path, she will usually move before I step on her.  I always find it amazing how warm the spot is where she was sitting, in comparison to the rest of the floor.  And sometimes I will walk through a room and one of the cats will have just walked out.  I can find where she was laying, just by walking around.  There is always a cat-shaped hot spot on the floor.

If only we could harness that energy!!!  The cats certainly don't seem to use it!!!
You can at least harness it for personal gain....

Free foot warmer. You just have to be careful how you go about it. If you sneak up on them, and slowly wedge your feet under 'em, you can usually get away with it. Hehehehehe

Hell No!  My feet are always hot.  I can't stand to wear slippers, even in the middle of winter.  I take out the garbage barefoot in the snow.  I can't stand to wear shoes or socks either.  I had a bit of an issue with HR when I began wearing MBT sandals to work (we're allowed to wear "dress sandals" but there is no definition of "dress sandals").  I told the HR chick that they were very beneficial to my feet and that I would be more than happy to get a note from my rheumatologist, who, by the way, keeps telling me that I need to have a full ergonomic overhaul of my cubicle.
