does anyone else have permanent ra in their jaw - i've had it in the left side - everyday for nearly 2 months - i've been ill the last couple of days and i've been sick during the night - i don't know what's worse - the throwing up or having to open my mouth! Also - if ra does the damage it does - what happens when you have it in your jaw?  YIKES!

Also did anyone else have palindromic rheumatism before they developed ra?

That does sound horrible to be throwing up with the jaw pain. Sort of like coughing when your back or ribs are hurting. OUCH!!

You take care missy....and make sure to get lots of fluids so you don't get dehydrated.

Feel Better!!

hunny why dont you go to a general doctor and have them help you.  It would be better then going through this pain wouldnt it?? Hope you feel better hun  I am not sure about anyone else, but I've never had jaw pain longer than a couple weeks w/RA. Could it really be TMJ?  You should get it checked out asap.

I've never had it at all so I really couldn't say....but it sounds pretty unusal.

I'd definately get the GP to check you out though Julie; just to be on the safe side.

Hi Julie,

Yep, any jaw pain only lasted a couple of weeks with me.

I did have Palindromic Rhuematism for 2 years before developing RA.  They wanted to treat me with Plaquenil.  I didn't want to take it, flare ups were few and far between for me but I remember them being way more painful than actual RA flares...YIKES

There was a website at the time that was really helpful and my RD said that 50% of people with PR usually develop RA.  I was hoping that I would be among the 50% that didn't but.... I wasn't

I'm so sorry you're throwing up with your sore jaw that must really suck. Feel better soon.

Jackie

Hey Julie.  That sounds horrible.  I have had TMJ jaw pain and I am so thankful that my ra has never effected my jaw.  Knock on wood.  I think it definitely is good reason to go see a gp.  Can you get in to see one?  I hate throwing up.  Maybe at least get something to settle your tummy.  Take care Julie.
