Good article by Jane Brody of the New York Times, dealing with the myths and truths about coffee.

 

Through the years, the public has been buffeted by much misguided information about caffeine and its most common source, coffee. In March the Center for Science in the Public Interest published a comprehensive appraisal of scientific reports in its Nutrition Action Healthletter. Its findings and those of other research reports follow.

When my husband was recovering from his heart attack, I was afraid to let him have damn near anything.  When we went to his first cardiology visit after his release from the hospital, I asked the doctor of husband could have coffee.  He said absolutely let him have his coffee and enjoy it!   Coffee is one of the most maligned products on the planet.
