Hi guys, seeing that my RD did not put me on any medication, when I go back to my MD on the  28th, do you think he could prescrib something or is that a no-no.

You guys are such awesome butt-whippers! I love it!
anaudlife, We have to be to get answers and it's fun!Rx strength ibuprofen is 800.  The stuff they sell you OTC is 200 each.  Usually one takes 2.  You can safely take 4 = RX strength.  Might help you get through this.
Rx strength ibuprofen is 800.  The stuff they sell you OTC is 200 each.  Usually one takes 2.  You can safely take 4 = RX strength.  Might help you get through this.
Yes, but when you take large doses every day, it should no longer be thought of as a benign OTC drug.  There's a reason that 800mg ibuprofen is prescription-only.I agree, call rheumy asap!Your physicians are "partners" with you in your overall healthcare.  You have some decision power, too...and the greatest one is deciding who does, and who does not have your best interest in mind.  I had an RD like yours, and I replaced him because he wasn't helping me.

I wouldn't worry too much about overstepping him....It's your health, your body, and ultimately your decision.  Be at peace with it and do what you know is right...for you.

Best of luck to you...
