So what does this mean? | Arthritis Information

My mom was having some swelling and pain in her wrists...went to the Dr and because of me having RA, her Dr (who is also my family Dr) ran the RA panel of tests. She said it came back negative for RA....

So fast forward about 3-4 weeks. My mom went to the Dr yesterday because she's having some problems with high blood pressure, headaches, dizziness---EKG came out ok, but they're sending her to a cardiologist.
Anyway---this same Dr mentioned yesterday that according to mom's RA tests she's a carrier for RA, but she doesn't actually have it.
What does that mean? What blood test would have shown that she's a carrier?
thats a question you would have to ask him..unless they ran the test for the HLA-B27 gene.  That gene is implicated in ankylosing spondylitis
