Is HPV Vaccine to Blame for a Teen's Paralysis?

There have been many reports of problems from this vaccine. I am still beyond incensed that government agencies would even consider mandating this vaccine! I understand that some vaccines are a necessary evil - measles, mumps, etc... you can easily catch those diseases just by being near an infected person when they sneeze or cough. Our children get enough vaccines. We don't need to add on to it, especially with one that we do not know the long-term consequences of. Also, will it wear off when the girl is a young adult? If so, will she voluntarily go and get a booster shot? Or will she assume that because she got the shot when she was 10,11,12,whatever that she is protected for life?
Didn't we have a couple of people here on AI that got some of this stuff immediately after the 3rd vaccine? GoGo? Or maybe she was HepB. I wish she'd stop lolligagging around Canada.

I didn't discuss this with my daughter who is 24, she got the vaccine soon after there were commercials on TV. The thing with vaccines is this... does the outcome justify the risks?
You guys know I am a nurse, I work in an ER. I talk to people all day long and one of the questions that I ask, especially when a child is involved is, is the patient up to date on vaccinations? You'd be surprised at the number of parents who do not vaccinate their children for "religious reasons" The reason most children enjoy good health in the US is because the government mandated vaccines. I don't care how many autistic kids there are in the US, you can never convince me that vaccinations are the cause of the autism. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone but can you really imagine how life in the US would be without chldren being vaccinated? Have any idea how many kids die in other countries from polio each year? How many children die in elsewhere in the world from preventible disease? How many die here from whooping cough?
Cervical cancer is usually self liimiting, most of the time it's discovered early and treatedwith freezing the malignant cells off the cervix if it gets bad you remove the uterus. This is one vaccine that is optional. I'm putting away my soapbox now.
Couldn't agree more, Wendy. I agree, most vaccines are a necessary evil. IMHO, though, the HPV vaccine is not. I also am against mandating the chickenpox vaccine. The government's own information says it's mandated mainly so parents don't have to stay home with a sick child. When will that immunity wear off? Are college kids or young adults going to bother to re-up the chickenpox vaccine?
