Question for MTX Users | Arthritis Information

Hi all,

My RD started me on MTX on Friday because I wasn't responding well to just plaquenil and an anti-inflammatory.  She actually called me in while I was having a bad flare.  She also put me on prednisone.  I am feeling a lot better since the prednisone and watching my blood sugars a lot since I'm a type 1 diabetic.  Anyway, my question is does the draggy feeling the day after you take your MTX dose lessen with time?  I really didn't experience anything bad, just low level sour stomach and that draggy feeling.  I just couldn't get moving.  By Sunday I was fine.  I was just wondering what your experiences are after taking this for awhile.  I have Fridays off and I'm thinking about taking this on Thursday so weekends with my husband are not wasted by my feeling so dragged out.  Thanks and I hope everyone is feeling well....Hiking_gal
I have no answers for you since I don't have that problem with mtx...just wanted to say good luck with it and I hope it works for you!
Hopefully that feeling won't last too long.
I experience the day after drag. I have for years but it is much better than it was in the early days. I still end up napping most Sunday's (after taking it on Saturday nights) but it's not usually required like it was in the early days.

It does get better. Hang in there.
Good luck with the MTX. I take mine on Monday and I find I am extra tired on Tuesday & Wednesday. It's nothing that stops me from doing what I have to do. If I cn I go to bed earlier on those days. Thanks everyone.  I noticed I was a bit draggy and just couldn't get moving.  I think I will switch it to Thursdays and that way I'm not dragging around on Saturday.  I hope that I get used to it and am hoping the MTX works for me.  It seems to be sucessful for a lot of people.  Have a great day....Hiking_galI had nausea and super tired feeling (and brain fog) for the first 2-3 weeks when I started - then all of my side effects went away. It's been 1.5 years - and all is great! I take my injections tuesday morning - so by the weekend - I'm ready for anything!
Hugs

Thanks Brennaboo.  I really thought it may be something I have to get used to.  It's encouraging to hear that others have said the tired feeling goes away with time.  I'm hopeful that this will work as I read on Wendyr's post about how successful she was with it.  Have a good day, Hiking_gal
