stopping MTX question | Arthritis Information

Does anyone know if stopping inj. mtx after taking it for a long time will cause sleepiness? Today marks the third week off it and for the last 3 days, I fall asleep in the middle of converstations, on the computer, etc. I still am able to sleep at night. I have a little more pain than ususal,  but I've been flaring for months now, so this is not something I cannot handle. I see my rheumy on Thurs, but I was wondering if anyone here had experience with this.

Thanks!
I was more tired when RA wasn't under control, so I would guess that stopping mtx is not helping keep RA at bay and you're feeling it.    Why did you stop mtx - was it not working?I agree w/ CathyMN.. You sound like me when I was flaring.... badly.

and I ask too, why stop it?
rheumy seems to think it's not working anymore and wants to switch me to Embrel. I'm still having the night sweats, fevers off and on, pain in all my joints and travelling swelling depending on the day. He's said for months that I am going downhillI had enbrel added when mtx wasn't enough alone - may not be the case for everyone, but it seems like the two combined work better than just one.   Glad he's deciding to do something else, it can't be any fun to keep getting worse instead of holding steady or get better.     I get night sweats as well - unfortunately, I think it's due to that age-thing.  Bummer, I have that to look forward to now too.  maybe I'm not too clear. I was having all those symptoms while on it. Off of it, I am still having the same symptoms - they are no worse off of mtx, except now I am sleepy 24/7MTX caused ulcers for me. Landed me in the hospiltal with a bleeding ulcer. It never helped me at all. Be careful.
