Brief but interesting article about how some states are working to counteract the effect of drug reps on doctors' decisions and ultimately on state-paid medication benefits.
It's about time for the authorities to start dealing with the corruption of the American health care system. At my former primary care doc's, I remember being severely ill with a virus, the kind where you feel like you're already half-dead. I had the first appointment after lunch hour, or so I thought. Apparently 4 different drug reps magically got in ahead of me. But that's alright, it's not like I was feverish and contagious and all that. Oh wait, yes I was!I hate it when there is a drug rep at the doctor's office and I'm left waiting while he gives his sale pich, But I do love the free samples that I get, that is left by the rep. I do think some Doctors get a kick back of some kind for perscriping them....maybe I'm wrong.Yeah, in my experience they always give the most expensive RXs. About time someone took control!!
